Such an idiot.

All economists say the same: everyone will lose, not only Canada and Mexico but USA too. Maybe even more.

Especially “the poorly educated” will suffer the most under such bs. Guess where Walmart is getting 90% of their stuff. It ain’t the American mainland.

Good for them. Walmart gave this asshole a lot of money for his campaign - can’t remember how much, but a lot - while Target gave none. Zero. Niet.
Too bad there’s no Target, here, in Canada, as the choice would be obvious for me, as consumer.

Well, seems like team Biden and Kamala are just as out of touch and useless as some popstars' teams these days. they just went on Pod Save America and aside from blaming everyone but themselves/the candidate, after a while they -probably unintentionally- admitted there was no plan at all if Biden would stop running.. they also said they didn't encourage him after the awful debate to step down (perhaps because it wasn't a surprise to them as they knew he was in cognitive decline for a while) which means they just care about $/the donors. it could've been a buffoon in the White House and they wouldn't care as long as they had their money

That sounds like a quite logically flawed post. Isn't those money FOR the campaign? Aren't those money SPENT in battleground states for ads? How are the Dems benefitting from those money UNLESS their relatives own a media outlet in battleground states? Aren't those money spent under strict rules? Didn't Trump pay his porn lover through those money and had a lot of problems? Actually a buffoon or cognitively declined Biden would both be much better than a fascist in the White House who is ready to sell out Ukraine, Probably negotiate with Russia on Europeans faith, start trade wars with its close allies like Canada... Everyone is better. And I mean everyone.

Democrats lost their way and their asses in a spectacular fashion. And sadly, deservingly so. I’m horrified by the prospect of another Trump term but also cognizant of the fact that the side I was on completely botched a winnable election on every level.

WHY did Biden think he was the ONLY one who could beat Trump?

WHY did he say he was a ‘bridge to the future’ only to squat around and drop out THREE months until the election?

WHY did Dems gaslight us and tell use that Biden was as sharp as ever when anyone with EYES could see there was clear evidence of cognitive decline, Parkinson’s, or some other mental or physical condition?

WHY was there not an open convention?

WHY did Harris chum around with LIZ FUCKING CHENEY? As if chuckling with a war monger whose father is responsible for one the biggest foreign policy disasters of all time would make someone say OH, YEAH, NOW I’M VOTING FOR KAMALA!

I am furious over these results but I am NOT surprised in the least. This isn’t 2016 and anyone who’s followed the the numbers and the trajectory of where the Dems were going from 2020 onward could see this coming. Maybe if they had adopted Bernie Sanders playbook and rhetoric - instead of listening to angry white liberals sipping their $12 coffees who think the term Latinx and POC are winning language - they wouldn’t be in this position.

Progressives need to stop  listening to kids in their diapers who are offended by everything, and start building a majority with the working class of this country to win elections again. There’s a vocal MINORITY that rules this party that needs to be purged out in place of a winning electoral majority that can actually get things done.

Completely agree with this.
And I think it’s the same everywhere, all around the Globe. Don’t ask why the right/far right are rising everywhere. I’m all to defend the minorities and oppressed people but not if it alienates the majority. That’s what is happening, right now.
We must be careful on how we approach things, how we push our agendas, because now, we get the opposite of what we want.

Agree with you both in that Dems and opposition parties have to appeal more to working class and middle class people.  Plain and simple campaigning. Not using language that does not resonate with people.

I still blame USA voters though. How Americans can vote for this creep who has NO redeeming qualities, completely threatens democracy, tried to overthrow an election result, has openly talked in a blatantly fascist way and threatens anyone who disagrees with him is beyond belief.

When Trump destroys democracy and servicing everyday American people by deliberately gutting all government departments and implementing Project 2025 agendas,  voters will be wondering what has hit them. Stuff like letting a billionaire sociopath like Musk have so much power and putting ultra conservative fundamentalist Christians in charge of so much will take a long time to reverse.  It was all there to see and voters have no excuses for ignoring it.

Im talking about their staff who are hired by the Biden team.. all they care about is having him in the race, even if he wasn't capable of it. they knew this years in advance. it shows they don't care about the country, only their job. (btw, they did internal polling after the debate and knew if Biden would've stayed, trump would've probably won by more than 400 points). this is very irresponsible.. Biden also played a dirty game to pick Kamala without having primaries.. anyway, he should've dropped out sooner. also, wasn't the plan that he would just be a "one term" president?

To think people actually voted for these two - really beggars belief but they will soon have immense power.

This will be warped by the Republicans, even though Trump pardons his cronies.

I hope Biden can also do Assange which is overdue.

Wouldn't Assange be controversial though? He is in Russia now. As for Hunter Biden: I m not surprised. It would be great if Biden pardons the people who tried to hold Trump accountable especially for Jan 6th 2020.

So Biden has pardoned his son completely.

He is no better than Trump in creating personal powers for the president.

That’s Snowden, but why not pardon him too? They’ve served sentences in the form of exile. And it would at least cushion the fallout from Hunter’s pardon.

Obama pardoned Chelsea Manning in his final term.

As far as I understand it, one needs to be sentenced for a crime or one must have confessed to a crime, to be pardoned. I am not aware, Assange was on trial in the U.S. and he most definately did not confess to anything.

Well, the way the gun situation was dealt with by the DA and the judge was rather "unorthodox". While making a false statement regarding his drug addiction on an official document while buying a gun is technically a crime, it is also a crime that is hardly ever investigated and there are hardly ever any prison sentences for such crime, if the gun itself was not part of a crime. The DA made a deal with Hunter Biden, who plead guilty in exchange for probation. Which is common practice for minor things, to not overburden courts and waste tax money. The judge did not like the deal and the whole thing went to court, where Hunter Biden was convicted by a jury. His legal team filed for appeal. Many experts will say, he was merely convicted because he is the son of Joe Biden and because of all the conspiracy theories surrounding both. Ukraine, China, paintings, the infamous laptop.

Biden is way better than Trump. First of all, he as the president of the U.S. has this particular right to pardon people for federal crimes. He does not create anything. It comes with the office. The difference with Trump is, that Trump wanted that right to pardon himself for crimes he committed. And unfortunately the Supreme Court agreed with the assumption that this is very much possible. If Biden was a bad as Trump, he would sell pardons to the highest bidder. And he could have done so many things to the disadvantage of his "enemies" ever since the Supreme Court made that ruling. He didn't.

One of the biggest platforms of Trump's campaign was he's seeking revenge and retribution against his political enemies, not to mention he continuously kicked the can down the road to avoid accountability for ANY of his actions in relation to his election interference in both 2016 and 2020. Thus, we are now about to have a sitting president that attempted to overturn a prior election with force that has total immunity thanks to the Supreme Court. He's completely changed the rules of the game so nobody should say a damn word about Biden playing that game under these new rules that he never wanted to be created to begin with. Good for him for pardoning Hunter and I hope he pardons anyone that could potentially be in Trump's path of revenge come 1/2025. There's no "...but both sides"-ing this one. This is ONLY happening because of the toxic environment MAGA has created. This is just a tiny little "fuck you" to them when they deserve a FAR BIGGER "fuck you" than this.

Anybody would pardon their own son. Period. It's wrong, but at the same time right. And it's not like he's a mass murderer. He's a moron that lied about drugs and taxes.

Meanwhile, I'm sure trumpf will pardon all his friends like Giuliani and Banon and the like right on his first day.

America‘s Hitler has already pardoned criminals like Steve Bannon. I mean it’s not like this will happen now just because Biden pardoned his son. What the actual fuck are we even talking about?
The fuckery which is about to go down beginning with January 2025 is going to be grift city, corruption mania, combined with criminality and cruelty.
Cases like Hunter Biden‘s almost never make it in front of a judge and jury because the DA and the Defence struck a deal to save money and state recourses. Just because his last name is Biden and because it was election season, the Republicans dragged a private citizen in front of the House committee to humiliate him and his father. Meanwhile Trump is about to pardon himself and the Jan 6th criminals. Enough with this bullshit.

No surprises that all the Billionaire tech giants are back singing Trump's praises.  All unethical, greedy, selfish people who are only interested in their own wealth and power.  Birds of a feather stick together.  Frightening times ahead.
