Personally I think it just comes down to cost of living and inflation. The perception is that people had it easier under Trump. The Dems have been blamed for it though and one actually listens or believes the facts anymore so they were unable to change the narrative. Also immigration and the border played a big factor.

A second Trump presidency is going to be 10000% times worse than his first. It’s going to be a shit show.

Yes, that's what they said on the news - immigration and cost of living. Trump's campaign seemed much weaker this time

but yes you're right about the perception of having it easier. I'm shocked though.

It's really sad to see minorities going with Trump.

However it will be a sight to see if he continues with his plan to deport 10 mil migrants. Its their families.

Also, call me crazy, but it felt like the super rich knew the result. Bezos decides not to endorse Kamala, Musk suddenly turns maga...

I’m not even mad at the MAGAs and all the obvious people who voted for Trump. I’m mad at the holier than thou Dems and leftists and undecided who thought Kamala was not ‘qualified’ enough or not to their liking for reasons completely benign. Fuck them most of all.

That's what I actually admire about AMERICA, they don't let these HOLLYWOOD bigwigs dictate who they are going to vote for. No TAYLOR SWIFT, LADY GAGA, OPRAH WINFREY can help HARRIS tonight...

That's what right wingers will say because their faves usually have a different view of the world and they can't stand it. I mean who's their poster boy? Rob fucking Schneider or Kid Rock vs Robert DeNiro or Madonna. Okay, but at the end of the day it's just that, their opininion. Obviously someone who's creative and artistic doesn't usually endorse politcs that go against that. It's not about deciding 4 other people, but they've earned their platform so they get to use it.

People's memories must be short. Trump was a terrible president a real shit show circus. He had no clue what he was doing. His Covid reaponse was shocking. I watched those press conferences with my mouth open at the shit that was coming out of his mouth he was making things up on the spot.

He is a failed businessman. A bankrupt with no morals he is a megalomaniac who just craves power and wanted to stay out of jail.

He doesn't care about  America just himself and  his family. His whole presidency was a big grift and now America have voted for a rapist. Possible paedophile, criminal and possibly someone who gave away or sold America's secrets.

I just feel sorry for my American friends as i worry about what the future holds especially for minoritoes as they are all LGBT and i worry about womens rights and people of colour. For the environment and also for Ukraine Gaza and the middle east.

I don't think ill be going to the states for a long time and i love America but the next 4 years could be horrible there so may be best avoided.

I just hope it doesn't make Purin invade more countries or China attack Taiwan.

Oh and if he wom due to inflation etc every country is going through the same. Our prices here in Australia are insane. Its not our current governments fault its covid and those policies and corporate greed. If anything the US economy is cooked based on  Trumps economy plans only people to benefit will be the rich.

Let's not pretend this is an American thing.

The whole world is FUCKED UP...this is the worst era since the Cold War ended for the Western World

This exactly!
Apparently the government coalition in Germany is about to split these very days. New elections are just around the corner and the extreme right is as strong as never before. Dark times.

Also this!  Applies to the German media too. The way they tried to seem balanced… the way they kept reporting about his campaign like he was a serious person. Infuriating.

Devastated. I won't be moving back to the US any time soon. The scary thing is, Australia is gonna vote in another bunch of fucking crazy right wing racists next year with the media's eager assistance. FUCK

i always thought her reaction was so over the top.

But Trump is a celebrity reality TV star and has been famous as a  businessman since  the 1980s he is one of them. The tired of celebrity argument doesnt work when his MAGA fans worshipped him and what he stands for.

The fact that artists like Taylor Swift, Cher and Streisand closed their comment section proves a real act of cowardice.

The real cowards are the ones posting hateful comments on other peoples Instagram. And we know those MAGA people would have flooded those areas because of some false winner mentality.

By the way, as a Trump fan, I hope you know what this means for your country? Greetings from Germany.

Artists, actors, singers are here, on this planet, to make me feel good through their paintings, movies and songs, not to influence me how and whom to vote with. And yes, since COVID, people are more and more tired or uninterested in celebrities' influence.

I don't think most people know who Kamala Harris really is ( or what she represents or her achievements etc ) .

She is a good candidate but the dems are not going to win over someone like  Donald Trump with a candidate like Kamala .

She only has limited  amount of time because  Biden was dragging his heels .

What a mess .

You're a Trump fan? I'm not. Go in the other thread and see what I said about Kamala and Trump... People like you should stop putting words in other's mouth. And you're not the only one who do this.

Greetings from Romania. I've been in Berlin 3 times and it's absolutely wonderful.

Yes. That is exactly what art is about and what artists have done ever since the beginning of time. Who are you to tell other humans what they can or can't do or what they stand for? You seem to have a weird perspective on other peoples freedoms. But this explains you Trump fandom. MAGA is exactly like that.

"... may the best man win ...". Your words? No?

Not a Trump fan? Maybe only MAGA?

I think the Democratic party and it's leaders also need to do a bit of soul searching. Stop saying "we need the black vote, the Latino vote, the female vote". You actually need the  white centrist vote to win!!! They voted in droves for Obama and Bill Clinton. And perhaps Biden (sort of). The Democratic party needs to be a moderate, centrist party. They are perceived in America as this lefty, woke party that caters to minorities. Guess what, you won't win that way!

Trump should've been beaten by 10 points on the polls, not 'neck in neck'. Ughhhh

True…besides the « artists », well Hollywood, I would add in all this Oprah and Vogue America (wintour) involvement ..it definitely did not help …too much commercial « élitisme » …but well around democrat candidate..

on other hand, I feel that the first female american president will be chosen when both republican/democratic candidates will be females.

That’s exactly my point though. The perception people have is they were better under Trump because they were. But it had nothing to do with him. Inflation and cost of living are a result of COVID and various other factors and are effecting everyone globally. But the average voter isn’t smart enough to understand that. Exactly same thing is playing out in Australia. The government released the latest economic data showing increase in GDP and inflation at 2.1%. The economy is recovering and doing great under Albo but voters aren’t experiencing those benefits yet. (Or if you read the comments most people don’t even believe the data and just claim they’re made up figures). Interest rates are still high so the voters are blaming Labor. Then add a complicit media who take any chance to beat up the PM. Just look at the reporting about the Qantas upgrades. Meanwhile everyone in the Coalition got the same benefits and media has been largely silent. Bridget McKenzie who was on every news program attacking Albo just admitted she got 16 upgrades herself. The hypocrisy is outstanding and the media just gloss over it.
