Ya, 'vibes' are def. a major, potent and accurate (a LOT of the time) thing. Happened in 2016. Even on her 'best' days never truly felt Hilary had IT. Atp absolutely feels like T/Maga hellscape coming. Biden is *current President so of course HE will get more media laser focused scrutiny than Trump (or any other nominee). And Trump is really, truly also in BAD, deranged, demented, demonic shape now. But the media is FULL Hillary e-mail now but now it's 'Biden's age'. & yes it's absolutely working.

Trump & his brain rot is waay worse than 2016. But he's more noisy & rants w/ 'vigor'. That's what the masses in the US are drawn to (vs. frailty, feeble, weakness) unfortunately. Biden pulsates those things.

'Issue' isn't the job Biden done or policies- it's specifically HIM and Harris. NY Post, X, etc...can hose out all the bullshit and deepfakes but in *real time everyone is still seeing & hearing a walking dear/headlight bumbling, corpse. Biden has aged from 90 (when he was 78) in 2020 to 105 now. Dude is in rough shape. Ya, it's at 'that' point now of voting for a cactus covered in poop laying in the ICU over Trump.

Whitmer and some other Governors would effortlessly crush Trump. Dems are INSANE, in denial & deserve the war zone shit post election they'll get if they don't do something asap. Of course they won't. This is HRC 2016 and RBG not retiring. Forget Maga but almost day ONE Dems pleaded they don't want 4 more years of Biden.

I'm not sure where this election is going to go.

There is a complete shift in intensity and interest in this one compared to 2016 and especially 2020. So many people I talk to are just completely disillusioned that these two fuckers are once AGAIN our choices.  Sadly, myself included. I know I'm voting for Biden, I'll vote for him even if he's on life support over Trump. But I'm certainly not pleased he's choosing to run again - he gave EVERY indication that he would serve one term and garnered a lot of the votes he got because so many assumed he would do just that.

So I just don't understand his logic that he believes - according to many sources - that he's the ONLY ONE who can beat Trump just because he did it once. 2020 was an extraordinarily unique election year in so many ways. And I do believe Biden WAS the man for the moment. He came across as stable, sane, kind, competent, empathetic, and ran a very effective and safe campaign against an opponent who was the complete opposite of all that.

But 2020 is NOT 2024.

And I wish he would've realized this sooner and stepped aside. He accomplished a great deal and would've gone down in the history books as a Trump slayer and democracy saver as well as huge string of legislative wins. If he loses, well, that all evaporates.

The polls have consistently underestimated Trump since 2016, and he's ahead or tied in almost all of them. So if that's the case, he could very well sweep all the swing states with a commanding majority. However, polls have also underestimated Democrat's when it comes to special elections - especially in 2022. Remember that 'RED WAVE'? The MAGA people had shit all over their faces and drastically underperformed.

So, yes, it's coin toss. And what's tragic is that both of these men need each other because if either of them were running against anyone else, they'd be losing by double digits. Can you imagine Biden against Haley or DeSantis? Or Trump against Gretchen Whitmer? But here we are.

American politics is such a sad state of affairs'.

This.to.a.tee. Literally everyone I know strongly feels the same way and hates Biden for going through w/ this (even when your own fng party by like 60%+ is pleading w/ you NOT to run again basically since day 1 in 2021). Ya, they'll grind their teeth and NO enthusiasm but (yet fng again for the THIRD time a vote against Trump!) Means it's been 12 years since voting for the candidate, Geezus! Biden is literally that cactus covered in poop laying in an ICU or Trump/Maga. The former gets my vote. The latter is just THAT dire.

Biden absolutely should've bowed out on a significant high (w/ momentum for the party which def. exceeded) very shortly after the '22 midterms as one of if not THE best 1 full term Presidents who very well may have saved Democracy and Nato etc... Dems have a pretty stellar all star group of Governors bench in waiting. Would've had a robust primary. And ya WHITMER is IT. Raging political talent, crisp orator, charismatic ah, key Midwest state, attractive & young, and connects w/ people. Also, Kentucky's Bashear, PA Shapiro etc..(others too). But on the flip side, ya, if Haley somehow ended up w/ the nomination she would've decimated Biden. Talking like a 2008 map (at least).

Daymn right if Biden loses instantly into the ash heap of losers and clowns and plummets to one of the worst Presidents because he did NOT bow out and cost the US & world Democracy. JILL every bit too because word is (even w/ her low key, soft spoken demeanor) she's verry influential and pushed him to do this again.

^ Yup If Biden bumbles and BLOWS this debate (& we'll know/feel it) and Dems still don't make a power move to at least attempt to rectify this asap Dems absolutely deserve to lose big. At the very min. NEEDS to forcefully and ruthlessly (along w/ viral moments) come for Trump and his anti democratic scuminess w/ precision. NO word salad and lame, canned lines about his chips and infrastructure bill or 'soul of the nation' lol. Unlike pre 2016 it's not & will never be about 'policy' anymore. No choice atp Biden HAS to get into the gutter w/out looking like a gutter rat tho which Trump IS and will act like.

I agree with that to an extent but to a lot of still undecided voters the #1 issue is cost of living/inflation/the economy.  But yeah for sure the canned lines about infrastructure deals and soul of the nation does like nothing.  I tried even looking online to see what his take is on the economy and improving it and yeah it's pretty generic and says nothing.  lol

I think people still on the fence about who they are going to vote for or not vote at all see Jan 6 as awful but not something that sort of affects them directly.  The way rising costs and inflation does.  That's why the image of an 81 year old guy just harping on about democracy just won't really cut the mustard to lots of folks.

yeah that was fake. It was an attempt to silence him. But with no proof.

Republicans in the Senate just BLOCKED a path to guaranteeing contraception rights. Not abortion, contraception. Republicans want no abortions, no condoms, no pill, just — you have sex, you must take the risk. WHY?

Lets not pretend that Democrats care about abortion. they have been using this issue as way to sway in votes, and without ever solving the issue.

Kind of like what Republicans do with immigration.

Abortion was considered a constitutional right from 1973 to 2022. Democrats haven't even had a filibuster proof majority in the Senate since 2009.

How can anyone vote for a man who is claiming to construct mass detention camps for immigrants? And how can people vote for him after January 6? I'm shocked with the level of American voters.

So people are easily into neofascism? To limit the woman liberty, pursue LGBTQ+ community, ban abortion pills and contraception methods. This is a nightmare. US are going to be a new Taliban with these measures.

I’m a Brit so not an expert.

But from where I’m sitting the Democrats need to get rid of Biden and get someone new in for them to stand any chance of defeating Trump.

He has to go they need a new leader there just not going to get the votes he is seen as to old and past it

But age isn't supposed to be a larger issue than attack women right, LGBTQ+ community and to creat mass detenction camps. There's not equal. If people are voting on all these attacks and saying it's just about age, so that's not true. People actually will vote for Trump anyways.

I agree with you it isn’t suppose to be about that but I think it is.

Biden is seen as too old and unstable to hold office.

The endless video footage of him looking like he needs aide all the time just to walk from one place to another isn’t doing the Democratic Party any favours.

Its loosing them the vote.

Biden was an absolute sustained disaster, canned/overly prepared (in real time could see him reading off the index cards in his broiled head which was short circuiting from all the info. overload!!), limp, cringe shit show from the split second he shuffled out! I knew/felt it was OVER w/in the 1st minute. Only got 100x worse. Ya, Dems MUST boot him like super asap.

when some of us were saying that he is not fit to be president due to his age and health issues we ve been accused of reproducing Putin's propaganda .Now that dangerous clown will have an easy win .Good luck to all of us

This was a desaster on so many levels. Trump was telling so many lies, as someone on CNN said he basically broke the fact machine. Or he simply did not answer at all. The problem, at this point he can say whatever he wants, his cult members will vote for him anyway.

And Biden? The optics are just horrible. If Democrats wanted to lay the rumors he is too old, even senile, to rest, this backfired badly. I'm afraid, they need an exit strategy. Now. Otherwise we may have a RGB situation which created the situation at the US Supreme Court. Except it will be worse if Trump wins. The stakes are simply too high. It is safe to say, that the Democrats will win in a heart beat if they come up with a younger, more energetic candidate. Let's face it, all the Republicans have been talking about in months is Joe Bidens age. If this issue is out of the way, what do they have left. I'd say, hire a marketing agency and frame the exit as an honorable move, blame it on the Republicans for being ageist, make ageism the new racism. Make his exit an election ad.

So the question is: Who will be the candidate? I'd say Pete Buttigieg. He comes across as very likeable. Intellectually he will wipe the floor with anyone. Will red states have a problem with him being gay? Sure. But as long as there is the electoral college, who cares about those red states. It's about the swing states and I doubt those have an issue with his sexuality.

Or Gretchen Whitmer? She is from Michigan, a swing state. I don't know how she is view at in the other states in the North, but this alone could do the trick.

Any other ideas?

Biden was terrible in the debate, but being good in a debate and being good at being president are completely different things. I hope people can see the difference. Maybe not. I have more confidence in Biden being a responsible president than Kamala.

The democrats are toast unless they ditch Biden now.

It has to be now to allow a good 6 month run for the American people to warm up to the new candidate before polls open in November.
