Actually I have a feeling it is also the fact that profit was never advertising but data stolen from us. And as the EU has made it more difficult and the Cambridge Analytica was discovered, this company has to rely on less data thieving and more on real business. And the business is SHIT.

I think it's also the fact that Facebook isn't popular with the young, use among the older demographic is likely declining too. I don't use it very often and many of my friends don't use it so much now. 

He's thrown so much money at the crappy metaverse to try and be the next big thing but it looks like a children's game from the mid 2000s.

This happened to Myspace. It was just replaced by a new platform, made someone else rich and life went on.

TikTok is a huge shift toward content sharing though - it's not really social media, is it? It's basically just YouBoob... in bite sized form.

Twitter can be great when used properly as can provide information and discussion ( unfortunately become too toxic )  - Elon Musk is completely destroying it.  TikTok is so stupid and idiotic.  All it is is people singing or acting out the latest trend ie a music song with certain movements or dopey challenges - and thinking how cool they are.  That latest " Teenage dirtbag" challenge or whatever it was with celebrities joining in posting teenage photos of themselves to that song just become so mundane.  I have had a look recently and found it so monotonous and repetitive.

I don’t feel interest for Tiktok either. I prefer tumblr to have a laugh and instagram to pass the time. I read Twitter to know what’s happening (and porn  ).

Definitely, but that seems like the natural evolution of the internet. Instagram (Meta) is basically a lame version of TikTok at this point.

I still have my tumblr account. It’s so peaceful there. though I noticed a lot of people returned in the last two weeks, at least in the bubble I’m active. It’s interesting.
