He was a disgusting pig who advocated against women's rights and referred to people who commited abortion as murderers.

He and his organisation continued to be a catalyst in the hatred and discrimination against LGBTQ people.

The hypocrisy is baffling.. But this cunt is dead now.

I thought the original Pope John Paul ii was the best pope? The nicest most open minded non judgmental pope?

You mean the non-judgmental way the Vatican condemned Madonna for the who’s that girl tour, like a prayer video, blond ambition tour and sex book?

He was dangerous.

When he visited Africa and told the thousands of catholics there not to use condoms……absolutely shocking he was literally encouraging the spread of HIV.

Rik Torfs, Belgian professor of canon law (I believe that's the term, don't shoot), about the Vatican "They're all gay." "people I know in the Vatican believe it's a large majority,"

:sassy:

According to him, there is a "homosexual culture" in the Vatican, yet weirdly, homosexual relationships are not acknowledged.

The pope, the one that just died, in one of his last messages told that there were too many gays in church. I mean, iI think it wasn´t a message for his followers, but more an intern one...and I think he used more a word like "mariconeo", probably closer to faggot than to the word gay

Isn’t that the same way in all the conservative macho dominated societies? I am sure in the fucking Afghanistan those taliban shit eaters receive a load or two per week in the mouth… at least

Reporter: Some Catholics are not happy about the image of you looking like the Pope

Trump: You mean they can’t take a joke? You mean the fake news. The Catholics loved it. I had nothing to do with it. Maybe it was AI. My wife thought it was cute. Ha ha

Reporter: It was put out on the WH account..

Trump: Give me a break

Well he has lived outside USA for most of his live and has a Peruvian citizenship. I’d say he’s more Peruvian than American 🙂

Anyway, I’ve read on a gay blog that the he had spoken against LGBT rights, so yeah

As far as I understand, he is a man of the middle. The name he chose, Leo XIV, is a sign that he intends to be socially consious. The cardinal that was preferred by Trump did not win.

I hear you.

I should hope he will be and follows on from the openness of Francis.

But Leo XIV is a lawyer of cannon law, so he is also loyal man of the Catholic cloth and defending the conditions of the Catholic teaching.

I saw his opening speech on the papal balcony.

He said Jesus Christ loves you unconditionally. Ironic when the Church has a list as long as St.Peters square of conditions 🤣

Apparently, he is more traditional than his predecessor but his tweets criticising the trump administration / JD Vance have been published.

He’s a cannon law lawyer he will absolutely be the most traditional Pope going.

he is not the first american pope: the last one was also american...anyways, apparently he is quite homofobic

Francis was from Latin America (South America) though.

That is different. It is a continent all of its own.

I don’t even think people from Argentina call themselves American they are Argentinian. It’s the same for all the other countries in Latin America, I don’t think any of them call themselves American.

So he is the first American Pope really, from the United States of America.
