I found this going through my old Betamax tapes and posted it on FB and Vimeo but Wanted to share here just for fun...For those who were too young to remember here is a snapshot of teen fashion etc. in 1988. Can anyone spot Kelly Ripa? Enjoy :)

OH MY GOD.

I had totally forgotten about this show!!! There was a dancer on there that my friend and I used to write to (fuck, I forget her name), but she is in that video you posted!! lol

I need to show this to my friend, she will die. The dancer was a HUGE Madonna fan and we were pen pals and we used to write to her all the time and talk about Madonna. hahahahaha

She's the one with the short blonde hair in the "You Can Dance" outfit.

Anyway, this is golden. Thank you for posting it! Wow, what a trip down memory lane.

Did you see the La Isla Bonita woman?

This could be gif tastic!

Omg hahaha. Oh I think dancing was much more organic and fun in the 80s. Nowadays is like a being a whore with fleas.

Love it

Love it thanks for posting

And 1988 was her "quiet year"?

Love this! How I wish to be an adult in the 80's. Best years: music, dance, fashion, hairstyle, everything.

Love it! So this total US 'non-single'absolutely would've effortlessly been yet another top 10/ top 5 or higher!... if released!! Look at that enthusiasm for a NON single w/ next to no airplay (no You Tube, Spotify, iTunes, Internet etc..). Only limited to the CD or cassette and Japan! lol

Far as the styles and *porno hair....lmaoo. Quite possibly the most dated/dreadful era...eva!! LOL But, still, look at how much looser, campy and fanatical the people were over their fav. artists. Again, this was minimally even known or played on US radio (unlike Wheres The Party, ITG and endless other non US singles). FAB.. clip (esp Kelly Ripa)! Loove the insane/ outta control hair and level of loon-dom she showed back then. 100x more than anyone else. Def. 'get' why she is still one of her biggest fans. Thanks for posting!

Spotlight is a great song , Warner was shit , it should have be released as an official single , imagine with a video , it could be a hit , and You can dance would have sold more

People mightve been more devoted to their artists, but there also wasnt someone new coming along every 5 minutes.

Artists were developed and were allowed to grow.

Today, they have to have instant success or they are gone and forgotten quickly and people move on the next one.

It's weird.
