promise to try Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 was he still important for the regime? I mean, was he in charge of something or was he simply a symbolic figure? Quote
FreeMySoul Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I hope this leads to new and positive leadership in Cuba all the lives lost under Castros leadership are those that should be mourned and the many that fled to leave their families behind can now have some peace. Quote
karbatal Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 He did great things: positive and negative. A figure so important in XXth century history. Nobody will miss him, though. Quote
Nessie Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Fidel Castro was the last standing legendary icon of the XXth century. History will remember him as the final chapter of the capitalism vs. communism centenarian struggle for world domination. This is the official end of an era. Quote
Guest Pud Whacker Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 He was a scum hole who murdered and tortured fags. Quote

runa Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Far from me the idea to take his defense because a dictator will always be a dictator, but he was certainly not the devil painted by Americans. Quote
promise to try Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I guess not everything was bad in his regime, but I refuse to talk about the "good actions" of a dictador: I hate it when they do it with franco, I won´t do it with others Quote

Guest Pud Whacker Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Little Havana in Miami, Florida teemed with life following news of Fidel Castro's death early Saturday morning as thousands celebrated the communist dictator's death. Quote

Raider of the lost Ark Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I find the whole celebration in Miami really unnecessary. Especially from the younger people that were born in the U.S.. Are they all now freedom fighters? Pretending they fled to the U.S. because they were all politically persecuted? Give me a break. Most of them left Cuba because of economic reasons. Their celebration is rather an expression of their superiority. They think they won, they think they are the better Cubans. Quite frankly, this is offending to the Cubans that still live in Cuba and may have tried to change the situation there. And while there is no arguing that his reign was a dictatorship, I would like to remind people that Cuba in the years before the revolution was not such a happy place either. It was basically just another dictatorship. Of course one that the U.S. was in favor of. Quote

He got rid of the horrible Batista regime. Prior to all embargoes life was better in Cuba than before, during Batista. as have happened with most communism regimes, health, education and commodities were far better than before. It all went wrong and life became hell again. Like all regimes when they become dictatures. So, good riddance Quote
Love Spent Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 I was shocked to see Rest in Peace (RIP) messages in this thread. Hopefully they meant Rot in Pieces. Good riddance, Fidel. Quote
