karbatal Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 It’s not making a ranking of who is worse. It’s how badly everything was handled for the past decades just to allow a certain country to make a mess in the four corners of the world. And how NATO is simply an armament selling firm. Funnily, there were lots of articles about this when Trump asked Merkel and the rest of the EU to pay much more money into NATO. Then most media outlets answered: “Yes of course so USA can make more messes”. Now suddenly NATO seems to be the romantic idea of the WWII allies. Seeing how incredibly useless is being right now, I am sure that Swedish, Funnish and Austrian citizens don’t want to start conversations to be part of that club AT ALL.
dollhouse Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Recent polls show that favour of joining NATO has increased dramatically
karbatal Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 The situation is so incredibly dramatic. My husband has a friend in Bulgaria who is Ukrainian and her cousin turned 18 three weeks ago. He is enlisted and was given an arm to go defend the country. Just imagine the poor scared kid. It’s really heartbreaking.
Guest CzarnaWisnia Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 so sad indeed, poor her Joy Behar moans Russia-Ukraine war is screwing up her Italian vacation plans https://nypost.com/2022/02/25/joy-behar-moans-russia-ukraine-war-is-making-her-vacation-plans-uncertain/?utm_medium=SocialFlow&utm_source=NYPTwitter&utm_campaign=SocialFlow

karbatal Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 How incredibly brave is being Zelensky btw. Well, the whole Ukrainian folk.
karbatal Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 I feel pity for the Russian soldiers too. In wars the victims are usually normal people like us. God, wars are so absurd
Guest CzarnaWisnia Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Sadly none of the West's actions right now will result in shortening the crisis. Only more death and destruction is to be expected. There needs to be negotiations and de-escalation measures. Citizens shouldn't have to be heroes and risk their lives when foreign leaders could step up and stop this madness through diplomacy.
runa Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Once again it’s West’s fault They tried diplomacy for months, look where it led. Putin doesn’t care about diplomacy, he’s a dictator. He has an idea in mind, nothing will make it change.

Guest CzarnaWisnia Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 So the solution is... more bombs, guns, destruction and death. Got it.
Guest CzarnaWisnia Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Of course negotiations are going to take place "at the barrel of a gun". If Moscow ceases fire there would be no need to negotiate... a ceasefire. How many Ukrainians have to be slaughtered for negotiations to finally be seen as a necessity?
Guest CzarnaWisnia Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Kremlin Says It Agrees to Talks With Kyiv The Kremlin on Friday agreed to talks with Kyiv, saying Moscow was willing to send a delegation to the Belarusian capital, Minsk. "In response to Zelensky's offer, Vladimir Putin is ready to send to Minsk a Russian delegation," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, according to Russian news agencies, saying that representatives would include officials from the defense and foreign ministries as well as the president's office. In a video statement earlier Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet for talks. “I would like to address the president of the Russian Federation once again. Fighting is going on all over Ukraine. Let's sit down at the negotiating table to stop the death of people," he said in Russian in a video published on his Telegram channel. https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/russia-ukraine-latest-news/card/kremlin-says-it-agrees-to-talks-with-kyiv-a4ooBbj6J9zQNiBepBZ4

Russia spent 8 years talking about the Minsk agreements signed by Ukraine to grant authonomy for the rebel regions. Where were you all? Where was the world outcry for the massacre that was going on in the east? Do this peoples lives have no value?

Guest Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 so what has the eruopean union decided? keep rusia out of the bank system?
karbatal Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 To be honest I don’t think anybody knows what is the solution. Because what can you do when a clearly unbalanced megalomaniac with 20 years of absolute power is speaking about bringing back the USSR? The only real solution would be killing him. An armed intervention would result in the destruction of Ukraine or even nuclear nukes destroying the world. The situation is very different now than it was only five days ago. Frankly right now they will have to do another Munich agreement: let him think he’s won the hand while the rest of the world gains time to take him out of Kremlin.
karbatal Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 2 minutes ago, promise to try said: so what has the eruopean union decided? keep rusia out of the bank system? Apparently, it is being said that some countries are against pulling Russia out of the swift system because their investments would be in danger. I haven’t looked if those informations are truly 100% correct.

Jazzy Jan Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 4 minutes ago, CzarnaWisnia said: So your solution is as I said: bomb more, more destruction, more death, etc. What is your solution ? Ukraine is a country with 44 million people who have been invaded by a megalomaniacal dictator who wants to restore the USSR and will not listen to anyone but instead threaten other countries in Europe. He knows nobody wants to start a war with Russia and is arrogantly ignoring the world begging him to retreat. Nothing is going to stop him unless the world intervenes and defends Ukraine.
