I cant be the only one who thinks her voice just isnt loud or clear enough in some RH tracks and this song is one of the worst cases! I hope im alone with this tho. And the random fast beat thats thrown on top of all the acoustic-y stuff sounds like it was made in a minute. I sound like such a hater but i just dont get this song arghh

Yes the fast beat doesnt fit at all

I'm not sure it doesn't "fit." It just doesn't sound organic to the song, because it probably isn't (added much later).

To me this song is magnificent regardless, although I'm reeeeaaaallly excited about the prospect of hearing the pop-rock epic version she sang on Ellen!!!! Talk about a "crying moment"!

THE ACOUSTIC VERSION IS EPIC! Love the final version, but those sounds with the guitar and the drums!!! :wow: acoustic performance is EPIC! EPIC EPIC EPIC!

While i like the acoustic and demos, I think the album version is the best - a mix of sadness and hope (provided by the uptempo/beats) which is what the message of the song is.

Ever since demos started leaking (since the Music era?) I've never been the type of fan who prefers them over the final product...until hearing RH and JoA

Obviously Madonna felt going back to the orginal version would connect more with the audience in her first US performance so hopefully she sticks to it for the tour, less is more

^The simple, acoustic, original version of Joan of Arc...should have been left like this in the first place and NEVER made upbeat in the final version imo

I agree with you, but I just wanted the opportunity to post this pic:

Joan Of Arc is the best song on Rebel Heart.

Love Spent is the best song on MDNA.

Devil Wouldn't Recognize You is the best song on Hard Candy.

Get Together is the best song on COADF.

Die Another Day is the best song from American Life.

Don't Tell Me is the best song on Music.

This is 2000-2015.

Excellent taste but I have to go with Love Profusion (although I love Die Another Day) and I'm a Sinner (almost a tie with Love Spent).

...and Give It 2 Me (feat. Pharrell) peaked only US #57, and it pre-dates sound-alike Blurred Lines (feat. Pharrell) which was a huge #1 US hit!

isnt that appalling? best song.
