promise to try
OK, in the last month I am receiving short news, well, on Tik tok , about a group of countries ( Brazil, Russia, India, China and I don´t know what country is behind the S) going to stop accepting the dolar as a change currency.Apparently they are going to start in august: can that be true? or is it , again, a rumour spread in the social media? is true that I haven´t seen the news in any "normal" news on the TV or in the newspapers. Sanctuary1995
The political situation(s) in these countries, as well as unstable economies in most of them will unlikely let that happen
runa
4 hours ago, promise to try said: I have heard both: maybe now is BRICSS... No. It’s South Africa. These countries are considered, by economics, to have fast growing economies that would dominate the economy by 2050. At 1st it was BRIC and South Africa has been added 10-12 years ago. They are considered rivals of G7 bloc (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, UK and USA). Russia is behind this idea to dump US $ as they face economic sanctions from the West. They try to replace the dollars by the Yuan but I’d be surprised if they completely stopped to use the $$. The $ is still the most popular medium of exchange on the market. promise to try
apparently the idea to stop using the dolar this year. But I don´t really know if it´s real information or not.It would made sense, to finish with USA´s economic power, but I really don´t know

Do people really think that a Chinese led world would be better than what it is today? China where no Westerner would ever want to live in? The autocratic China with 0 rights for the ppl? karbatal
I’m surprised that BRICS thing is still even considered. Death people on the street during COVID in India and the Brasil mess along the disaster of Russia… Even China is no longer considered a trustful economic partner (it never was). The EU has announced a “decoupling” with China. Frankly, they can grow all they want: they are not growing in real social prosperity, which is what matters.
