thebigham Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Virgin Megastore: COADF and TIC: $10 LAP and TB: $8 Virgin Megastore still has the above albums on sale at those prices one month later.
Supernatural Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Virgin Megastore still has the above albums on sale at those prices one month later. If you ever wanna know if her stuff is moving at Virgin, their sticker on the back has the date (month/year)they got them in. I forgot how it's written but if you look at all the #s you can easily find a date.
Guest nothingfails0603 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 COADF inches down 20-21* on the 10/6 Top Electronic Albums chart, though bulleted- three albums debut ahead of it. It is the album's 98th week on the chart. think it can do the full 104? One thing I notice about Electronic albums is that most genre artists are people who all the fans buy it in the first two or three weeks and then it's dead. Look at any PSB, Erasure, etc... album this decade. The loyal buy it the first week, and it gets smaller sales the second from those who maybe didn't have time or cash to get it the first week, and by the third week the album is pretty much finished. Madonna has relatively decent staying power compared to most acts who are classified "Electronic".
fak Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 she is a mainstream superstar and not forgotten 80's talent i guess - erasure and psb had some us chart success in the 80's and early 90's but they are not played on radio i guess. what about other artists who released albums in 2005 on the electronic charts ie gorillaz where are they and whats their catalogue selling. madonna and gorillaz were occupying the top 2 for a while if i remember correctly. i wonder what other artisst such as chemical brothers, bjork, basement jazz, faithless, nyc undergrond series, amber and that sell overall. it owuld be nice to know what the no1 electronic artist has sold this week. think it can do the full 104? HolidayGuy Posted September 28, 2007 Author Posted September 28, 2007 Well, for the 9/29 charts, M.I.A. was No. 1 on Electronic Albums and was No. 66 on the Billboard 200. Blacqk Audio was No. 2, and No. 172 on the BB 200. DJ Skribble was No. 3, and No. 194 on the Billboard 200. Aso, as you can see, these kinda albums don't sell well in the USA- shawking.
HolidayGuy Posted October 2, 2007 Author Posted October 2, 2007 W/E 9/23/07 (Excluding Evita and WTG- neither of which sell significantly, esp. the latter) I've concludedthat the separate listing for GHV2 is the digital version (a little more than 3K scanned), so I just lumped it with the other total (remember, looked like there wasa tracking issue with it) 1. The Immaculate Collection: 1,601 2. Like a Virgin: 179 3. Ray of Light: 172 4. GHV2: 163 5. Madonna: 113 6. The Immaculate Collection (Video): 108 7. True Blue: 96 8. Like a Prayer: 84 9. Guest nothingfails0603 Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 wow, Confessions is evil Kinda sad how low in general sales are now. Bedtime is now below 30 copies a week, that's Who's That Girl territory, lol
HolidayGuy Posted October 2, 2007 Author Posted October 2, 2007 It's been below 30/week before. WTG territory is less than 20, sometiems less than 10!
lemi Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 thanks HG. good to finally see weekly #s. any chance of getting totals?

thebigham Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Yes, COADF fell off Top Electronic albums this week. Madonna had a good Billboard run for the past 2 years!!
thebigham Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Yes, COADF fell off Top Electronic albums this week. Madonna had a good Billboard run for the past 2 years!! Madonna is still on a Billboard chart!! Hot Single Sales: Jump re-enters at #50, 34 weeks.
HolidayGuy Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 Well, call Colbie C. so she can provide the "Bubbly" for that one!

Nightshade Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Year-to-Date Madonna Album Tallies GHV2: 9,185 My dreams of this hitting 2x platinum seem to evaporate more and more with each passing day.
HolidayGuy Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 Well, it depends on any further record club sales and what's out there. But, I don't think it's going to happen any time soon- but, we've been surprised before- i.e. STR certified for 3 platinum when its SoundScan total was 2m or so.
thebigham Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 This is from 13 months ago from Holidayguy: Top Sellers, Through 9/3/06- 35 weeks in to 2006 (trend compared to last year in parentheses) I don't have last year's to-date for WTG, but it's at 942 for 2006 thus far. As you can see, VERY healthy sales this year for La M. (I'm gonna go back and make sure I have the correct week-to-week comparisons- 35 weeks into the year- but I'm pretty sure it's correct!) 1. The Immaculate Collection: 102,680 (+.87%) 2. GHV2: 18,729 (+12.37%) 3. Ray of Light: 11,691 (+41.35%) 4. Like a Virgin: 10,914 (+34.3%) 5. Madonna: 9,858 (+87.45%) 6. Something to Remember: 7,419 (-8.08%) 7. True Blue: 6,192 (+7.06%) 8. Music: 4,935 (+21.6%) 9. Like a Prayer: 4,914 (+26.25%) 10. American Life: 4,710 (-15.78%) 11. Remixed & Revisited: 4,276 (-27.45%) 12. Erotica: 3,809 (+24.8%) 13. You Can Dance: 2,942 (+8.05%) 14. Bedtime Stories: 2,216 (+9.65%) 15. Evita: 2,009 (-6.05%) 16. I'm Breathless: 1,483 (-9.45%)
thebigham Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 The DVD sales are so bad. They are too expensive. WBR needs to drop the price.
HolidayGuy Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 If you look at saves for other "diva" DVDs, they're comparable. Don't go by MJ's Number Ones' sales, now.
Guest Eternal Flame Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 If you look at saves for other "diva" DVDs, they're comparable. Don't go by MJ's Number Ones' sales, now. And don't stores carry a lot less copies of her DVDs than they do her CDs?
Supernatural Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 And don't stores carry a lot less copies of her DVDs than they do her CDs? Music DVDs always seem to be the hardest section to find in stores.
Ciccone's Cheeks Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I most def. think within the next 2-3 yrs theres a decent chance of many re-certifications ESP. TIC going 11x plat. this one is still "selling" around 100k+ annually, so the shipments eeeeasily should be nearing (if not past) 11x platinum! Id really love to see COAD go 2x plat. It's just SO close and would be hot for Ms "latest" album to go multi plat.
HolidayGuy Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 Some stores now just toss the DVDs in with the CDs (I saw that at FYE).
FedFed Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 wow RandR will be gold int he next 100 years... cool
