notsomuch Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 anyone who calls COADF is a flop, even in the US, is out of their minds... if sales are as robust as say 5-7 years ago, COADF could be nearing 3x by now... and COADF selling 1.6M nowadays with just one modest radio hit in it is quite successful... You are very right. Even an artist with 4 hits songs at radio, two of them being #1s, Nelly Furato only sold a few hundred thousand more than COADF. COADF was a big success in the US and Internatioally. Who cares what COADF is selling in contrast to TEOM. Frankly it's like compairing a Picasso...to a cartoon drawing done by a street vendor. While Mimi has a few moments...it can't touch COADF as a whole.
thebigham Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 8/11 charts: Top Electronic Albums: COADF is down 2 places to #15, 90 weeks. Hot Dance Single Sales: Jump is down 1 to #9, 38 weeks.
mtzlplk Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 uhmmm... can someone please change the subtitle of this thread... 5/20/07 forever?
HolidayGuy Posted August 2, 2007 Author Posted August 2, 2007 For one of the forum's most esteemed posters, mtzl, ANYTHING. Actually, reports may not be so regular anymore, so no need for a date, either.
Guest courtney Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 anybody have the sales upto most recent chart week ending 8/11/07
thebigham Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 No, we don't. HG will not be getting the info anymore.
HolidayGuy Posted August 2, 2007 Author Posted August 2, 2007 I haven't heard if the info will be back to weekly from my one source- but, every now and again, I can ask another buddy of mine for some info. Just not gonna make it a weekly habit.
Guest boytoyville Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Thats sad. I always really enjoyed the updates. Well, thank you for all the info in the past HG, it was much appreciated.
HolidayGuy Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 Let's not get all vuhklempt now. Like I said, hopefully I can post the info semi-regularly (whether that's twice a month, whatever). Nightshade Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 8/18 Electronic Albums: COADF #13 (+2) and with a bullet
notsomuch Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 It should be close to 1.7 million by the end of the year especially with the upcoming hype of new album. COADF has had a great run.
HolidayGuy Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 COADF had dropped below 1K in a week before the present, before rebounding above it for sme weeks there.
Guest nothingfails0603 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 funny to see ROL oh-so-slightly passing GHV2 up
Guest Eternal Flame Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Poor GHV2 I can only imagine how poorly a GHV3 is going to do. She's had TWO top ten hits since GHV2.
Guest nothingfails0603 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 considering the new album is upon us in less than 3 months, 900+ a week is still excellent considering the album does not have a lot of recurrent airplay, and it's been a year since she toured for it. IIRC, AL was already down to 150ish a week (which it'd kill to be selling now) before COADF came out.
thebigham Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 8/18 charts: Top Electronic Albums: COADF is up 2 places to #13, 91 weeks. Hot Dance Single Sales: Jump holds at #9, 39 weeks.
Guest boytoyville Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 I think what is going to hurt COAF sales a little and probably has as of last week is that Target pulled it from it's stores. When I went to Target the other day that had shipped back the rest of their COADF studio album and Confessions Tour albums. Which they recently had about 6-7 of each plus they pulled the stickers. They just have the Immaculate and through some left over Like a Virgin albums from the Rock & Roll hall of fame promotion.
thebigham Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 How do you know they shipped them back? Did you ask?
HolidayGuy Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 That also could be just a 1-store incident, not a national "Let's-ship-COADF-back-to-WB!" deal. The next compilation, I imagine, will be some sort of career spanner.
mtzlplk Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 The next compilation, I imagine, will be some sort of career spanner. It would be easy to predict it for next year... her compilations usually follow her tours... plus the 25th celebration and stuff...
HolidayGuy Posted August 16, 2007 Author Posted August 16, 2007 COADF drops 13-15 on Top Electronic Albums, 92 weeks on.

thebigham Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I went to a Target in Buffalo, NY. They did not have a single Madonna album on the shelf. I went to a Wal-Mart down the road. They had 2 TIC and one COADF.

Guest Beautiful Stranger Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I never see Madonna albums at any Target. Only the CT CD/DVD and COADF when they both came out. All the Targets I've been to here in NE Ohio don't even have a Madonna section with all the others acts.
