acko Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Have social media rendered websites irrelevant? How does it rate among other music websites?
karbatal Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Yes, whenever i go to that page i feel like this boy
Guest CzarnaWisnia Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I don't see how new media have rendered websites irrelevant. Facebook etc. are for people who follow everything on a daily basis but websites act as archives and are easy to search. I think they're very useful.
acko Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 u can't even find her full discography on that damn site...but those damn children's books r there, on full display.
XXL Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I've always wondered Ever since 1998 and until pre-social media years the various Madonna fan sites and fan boards have done a better job at showcasing and publicising Madonna on the Internet than her own official website. Is the magazine ICON still circulating? Is it any good/relevant considering how everything seems to be available online these days and Madonna being on IG etc etc?
horn Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Have social media rendered websites irrelevant? How does it rate among other music websites? For you to buy all her children books.
mtzlplk Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 it's not really well-maintained... the content i mean
5iVe Elements Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I didn't know there is an official site. This forum has served that purpose for me.
Flip The Switch Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 M.com during the Music days was awesome. Great design with the Music album on loop.
datf Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 having madonna.com is just for the sake of having it. if she doesn't take it, the church will be more than willing to.
Raider of the lost Ark Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Didn't she even go before the UNO to get the domain name?
le smoking Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 lol you'd think she'd make more of an effort considering how hard she fought for the domain. I think I preferred it back when it was wbr.com/madonna the website peaked with that Music remixer in 2000 tbh
Guest whatatramp Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Didn't she even go before the UNO to get the domain name? Yeah it owned by a porn site I used to have a profile on madonna.com, I bet it's well cringey
nick00 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 The site is pretty ok to me, but it feels like it could have been more creative. I forgot it existed for the past year until now.
loomer Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Do they still have the self regarding (I don't read) magazineography section (which can be found on any fansite)?
elijah Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 its a shame, its like she has no site. The least they can do is repost her instagram pics.
jonski43 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 M.com during the Music days was awesome. Great design with the Music album on loop. The mixing tool they launched as a promo gimic is still live although I think it's stop functioning as it's so old! It worked last year! http://madonna-music-mixer.archive.firstborn.com/ As for madonna.com, I never even think to go. From a fan perspective, she's been abysmal regarding a proper fan club etc. You'd think Warner's would have a department that runs all these things but obviously not.
Foxcatcher Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 madonna.com in 2005 was way better than now
Flip The Switch Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 The mixing tool they launched as a promo gimic is still live although I think it's stop functioning as it's so old! It worked last year! http://madonna-music-mixer.archive.firstborn.com/. yeah that was a cool tool.
Sloane Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Sometimes I accidently click on it bc it's next to MNation bookmark. I click away b4 it loads up. That's my take on Madonna.com. I think I have an account there. idk.
JimmyJimmy Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 This is the real deal. http://www.madonnation.cz/singl-everybody?jazyk=en
ryan Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 What they did for GHv2 was pretty nifty: having a complete discography page complete with a review and chart stats for each album and single. Shame that's not there anymore. I also hate how the books section doesn't include Sex or even the girlie show book. Back during post HC/Celebration days, the site did become relevant again by posting some old/rare interviews on the site. Shame they never kept up. They need an overall on the whole site. Not just the design, but the content too. Oh how I miss the Warner days (surprisingly)
BrokenButterfly Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 I never go to official sites because they just redirect to the Live Nation store these days.
madonnasuperfan01 Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 u can't even find her full discography on that damn site...but those damn children's books r there, on full display. :lmao:
mamifero Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 And don't get me started on the "Official" Madonna App
