Did a tour made you a fan/loon?

WHO'S THAT GIRL TOUR of course!

I was already a fan and my sister was an early Madonna wannabe and we used to watch The Virgin Tour home video and she'd be in her rubber bracelets and everything (:lmao: ) but it was Who's That Girl World Tour 1987 that turned me into a proper loon!

I became a fan midway through the Confessions era, shortly before the tour started. However, I spent my time starting to collect her CDs and going through her catalogue rather than actively following the tour. It wasn't til the DVD release I realized how amazing the tour really was and how much I missed. After that I started collecting her other tour DVDs as well.

It is a bit stupid that I got a M fan while a new, glorious era and tour was going on right at that time, but didn't actually focus on it. But well, in the end it doesn't matter, at least I got a fan in the first place!

By the way, my 1000th post woohoo!

I thought I was a loon, but MDNA made me loonier :)

For me it was watching BA on TV...as a young catholic girl I was offended...then realised I wasn't offended but fucking loved everything about it...then I was hers :inlove:

I actually watched the S&S tour broadcast a few years after its original release and since then I've pretty much been a loon. I looked into her music after I heard Miles Away (I know, oh dear) and I loved it. I actually don't think it deserves some of the hate it gets, one of the best on Hard Candy. Fortunately, I discovered more of her "better" music. I went to MDNA in Hyde Park and it was amazing! Actually looking and thinking "that's Madonna" is so weird, still even now.

It seems to me that so far, RIT and GS did not convert many fans on Madonnanation. I remember watching the VHS recording of the BAT show in Barcelona over and over and over and over. Then after that I recorded her Oscar performance of Sooner of Later.... then a friend of mine got a pirated version of Truth or Dare. That was the most exciting time to be her fan, definitely it was her peak (though she's had other lesser peaks since then).

I loved her dearly since True Blue (my first memory is watching Like A Virgin video on a video when I was like 5 and thinking she is the most beautiful woman on earth) but it wasnt before BAT when I was convinced she was a god. It made me love her more and acknowledge that she does the greatest show on earth.

I've fell in love with the Queen when I was like 5 back during the LAP days, and Bedtime Stories, ROL and Music were MY FUCKING ALBUMS :queenbitch: but I didn't actually become the loon I am today until I saw the DWT on HBO. I've been hooked ever since.

RIT cuz I saw her for the first time live.. but from seeing it on MTV weekends.. i'd say BAT.

with her it's like watching a popstar with the personality of a rockstar but at the same time she's also classic hollywood and diva like. I can't really "place" her. I love the contradictions about this woman!

Nope, not quite. The Girlie Show did it for me. Blond Ambition was amazing, and who at the time could ignore it. She was everywhere...and everything.

But TGS did it for me. I was in awe. At first, I couldn't even quite understand what I liked, or what was even going on (I was so young), but I just couldn't turn away. It was like watching porn...something a good Catholic/Christian boy was certainly not supposed to do, but of course, you just couldn't help yourself (and it was the Erotica era. LOL)!!! Madonna was very much the same way. Loved the singles during BS era. For me, it's been a gradual thing that has grown since then...paying attention to some things at certain times more than others. The AL era totally solidified it for me. That's when I started to really go back and study her work, interviews, everything...and I'm still always learning new things...

Tours are Ms biggest thing

I was obsessed with DWT, so all my friends who visited me must watch it so i could show them how great this woman is. Even some of them hate her songs they agreed she is cool so it was enough for me :)

I have a feeling MDNA's video recording will convert a lot of fans into loon-dom.

What's next after loon? I think I might be there because of this tour!

my neightbour was a DJ back in the day. I was like 12 or 13,,,,and he just returned from NYC with a 12 inch vinyl or everybody. he told me " this Italian gina girl can sing like a black girl.." he played the funky track and my ears fell in love. been a fan ever since. as soon as the MADONNA MADONNA album came out I bought it right away and played it non stop. I still remember that time when no one had even heard of her. can u imagine? " huh ? Madonna who ? "
