songkaiwen Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I really hope M can overtake them over the weekend!! Me too!
Guest kangarooz Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Been into my local Asda today, and their number one album was 'Celebration the video colection',! Thay did not have a single copy of the 'actual' album, just the video's in a cd shaped box, all the promotion said was only vids, but do you think they have got confused and though the video collection was the actual album? I just couldn't beleive they had no copies of the album, they must think the video colection was the album because it was in a cd box! How is C gonna to be number 1 in albums if you can't buy it in the shops!
Mightycomfort Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I bought that video collection in my asda today. They had single cd, double and DVD in the cd size case. There were a few people looking at the cd. One girl said 'I'm going to get my mum this' Think it's gonna sell solidly to Xmas Do these DVD sales in the cd box count as DVD or cd sales?
Guest Danny86 Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Those DVD sales will count for the DVD charts, it's just a mistake they stocked them into the place of the album (or because they ran out of copies). This is not the same case as I'm Going To Tell You A Secret where 2 configurations counted to different charts, since they seemed like "CD with a bonus DVD" and "DVD with a bonus CD". The Video Collection does not have a CD component.

Bitch Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 The sales aren't bad. Is it possible for her to regain the top spot next week?
promise to try Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 number 2 only 1000 copies behind! that´s really good!
mtzlplk Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 so from 77k to 52k... not bad, only a 32% drop... and losing out to Paramore? we must not look at it that way, she actually almost caught up with them in her 2nd week... she was trailing by a wide margin in the mids

How much was the DVD at Asda? None of my local supermarkets stock the DVD and HMV stores are charging 16.99 which is way too much.

aeroco Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Shame her sales just fell short this weekend, but great that she sold 50k plus week two with strong weekend sales once again. Hopefully sales will stay strong and she could return to the summit. Even TIC didn't manage that (though its 9 weeks at the top was AMAZING).

Braby Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Have they given up on advertising yet or is the commercial still on rotation? Any airings on tonight's X Factor?
Mightycomfort Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I have only seen one advert the week it came out. Word of mouth is selling this album. I just hope she comes over and does some promo here. This album has legs and I think it'll top a million by Xmas as sales build in the present buying season.
HolidayGuy Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Huge airplay climbs for #s 10, 11 and 13. "Celebration" airplay looks to be holding up alright. What was a Michael Bolton track doing as high as #17 on the airplay chart?!? Strong second-week sales for the Celebration album
Guest Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I work at Asda in Birmingham and we're currently selling the dvd for £12.79 in our store! I didn't think we'd sell it so cheap...i paid £16.99 at HMV. Also, the HMV website had the dvd for £12.99 As for the album, i'm glad its selling so well in its second week! I hope M will pop over here and do something, it'll be huge!!
jonski43 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 HMV in London had the 2 disc CD for the same price as the 1 disc CD - £12.99!
Queen Bitch Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 No ads for this during either of the X Factor shows. Shame that the entire package of CD/DVD sales aren't combined for the overall chart. Anyone know what the total sales are for the single?

Queen Bitch Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 76.531 copies I'm guessing it will do around 120k in total - unless she performs it on X Factor and it has somewhat of a resurgence.
FedFed Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I can't find Celebration single in Centrl London! was so limited?
Guest nikolakisgreece Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 The saturdays are gonna be number 1 this week ?
aeroco Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 ^ Yes, Saturdays or Chipmunk will be number 1. Hoping Madonna will return to number 1, don't think any major new releases planned this week and she was outselling Paramore each day all last week after the first set of mids. Hope her sales stay around 50k plus too.
