Guest eroticerotic
Awww, I can't even remember why I couldn't go. Doing my O' Levels I think LOL. Now, on your knees plebs, and worship this flawless Goddess... this is flaw free.
Guest bluejean
I actually really wanted to go and originally my Mum said I could but then my Dad put his foot down and said no, it's "too rude." I am from Australia and my Mum actually said to me as a kid, and I quote "You can see her next time she comes, you'll be old enough to appreciate it by then." 23 years later she was right Oh but she DID buy me the VHS which I had to hide from my Dad in my room and only watch it when he wasn't at home. Wasn't long before I was masturbating over that orgy scene. I'm sure we ALL were That part with the 2 guys dry humping and rubbing eachothers arse and crotch. HOT! When, can someone clarify? She wore long pants in Europe, and the USPuerto Rico: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J8MpdcN20gs She cut them off in SA: Min 7:30 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JN7No5M10Xc And then the ones she used in Australia and Japan http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=H5DBPrEp5k8u
madmark
Such a sweaty, sexy show! I love the sound as well with the live band and her vocals. One of my fave moments ever is "Deeper and Deeper", then breaking down into the orgy, the riff she sings there, and then into "Why's It So Hard" which I fell in love with live. Oh and later that "Beast Within" dancer moment was pretty awesome to see as a young boy with very little access to homoerotica! haha

Guest bluejean
Wow love this tour so much. And silly me I have never seen other concerts filmed just the DVD. Are there others filmed to download just like BAT has several????? There is Japan which you can download the full show. There was also a broadcast of Turkey but I've never been able to find that version anywhere. Aside from that there's the audio of London and a radio broadcast of Rio (which has radio announcers talking all the way through unfortunately.) HavenHigh
By the way, was True Blue meant to be the instrumental interlude after Rain? http://todayinmadonnahistory.com/2015/07/08/today-in-madonna-history-july-8-1993/
Guest bluejean
Yes. Apparently. I think what we got made more sense. Plus it would have just teased that hit starved crowd
VogueMusic
PERFECTION. Hands down... my favorite Madonna tour of all time. A pure work of art. In every sense of the word. What the Confessions tour is to so many fans now, that's what this tour is to me. And the BEST band and musical direction/arrangement she has EVER had. While Blond Ambition was iconic and defined her status as a star of the highest magnitude...The Girlie Show defined and solidified her as a TRUE artist. ryan
It's perfect from start to finish, and quite possibly her greatest show ever! I remember when DVD's became the new it thing in 99', my father bought a slew of DVD's at Best Buy, and this happened to be one of his purchases. As a young kid, I never quite "got" it, the show that is. I remember being perplexed at the arrangements for Erotica and wondering why it sounded odd, her witty banter and sense of humor through-out the show never really made sense to me... Well, I was only 10 at the time, but about 2-3 years later, I did a complete 360. I love it. She took BAT to the next level. The arrangments and sound is spectacular, the visuals and outfits are gorgeous, and thematics are powerful. It's a fucking feast!!! And I'm so glad she never repeats herself. Not only will we never get another Girlie Show, but none of them will never be as good as The Girlie Show. Oh, and the accompanying book... FLAWLESS!!! I actually need to get my$elf a copy :/

Gus
I love this bootleg from Paris where you see her running from one way to the other up on the stage during the Strike a pose part in the beginning of Vogue http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SGS-jw-UP4A And this one from Toronto, i don't think i've ever seen her this playful interacting with the audience! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FVYIjpjPmbo

Paul
I've never figured out how she walked in their backs with those boots and not broken their spines. It's very dangerous. But I guess she probably weighs nothing.
KalamazooJay
I really wish I could've seen this tour. It always seemed so, I don't know, whimsical? It has a very strange dreamlike, surreal quality to it. The combination of her voice and choreography was just stunning. Plus, it's the last tour she did in which it was just her and her dancing. The subsequent tours had the guitar. And while I appreciate her acoustic, folksy side, there's just something special her dancing that a "rock version " could never replace. UnapologeticRebel
So many great things about The Girlie Show.... What I like most about it, is that it's extremely theatrical - not that most of Madonna's tours aren't - but I think the theme of the show really brings out/showcases pure theatre. I miss the days when pop stars didn't rely on fancy video screens to replace actual props and dancers/actors. Large screens do NOT give the same effect that props do. Unfortunately, because technology has improved, most acts who set out to put on a Madonna-like show will use them as a substitute (M included). Anyway, the band sounded amazing, Madonna's vocals were strong, and I loved the arrangements of the tracks. Standouts for me were: "Justify My Love" - BRILLIANT rendition, "Deeper and Deeper", "Express Yourself", "Why's it so hard", "La Isla Bonita", "Holiday", "Everybody", "Fever", and "Vogue".
