Question regarding SEX

I was reading about SEX on Wikipedia and stumbled upon the following:

'One of the most shocking photographs made for the book, which featured two women in post-punk attire flanking Madonna with one of them holding a knife to Madonna's crotch, was dismissed as it was considered too violent.'

It then goes on into how they took 80,000 shots for the book and obviously only selected few made the cut.

Recently we were lucky that a bunch of out-takes have leaked, has this shot ever surfaced?

If it's in the book then I'm such a :flop: fan. For not knowing that it was in the book, and for not even having the book.

Yes it surfaced. And the photo was used in the book. It's overlayed on an image of the lesbians in the urinal. The photo of Madonna is in pink.

That fucking annoying twat gemini07(575$ uses it for his sig and avatar

I remember looking at a copy of Sex after it was first released because a friend had it. For some reason, I don't remember the lesbian photos all that well, but most of the book is completely outrageous.

Wish I would have purchased the book at one point because the prices online have become so ridiculously high.

I wondering who will be the next mega-star to release such a book. Tila Tequila, a star in her own right, recently released a second sextape.

Sex was not a book of pornographic images. It's an artistically assembled volume of sexually themed photography paired with both prose and poetry. It holds up in its surface context but, as with a lot of what she's done in her career, there were other layers to it.

It's a significant work because of the time during which it was released and because of Madonna's involvement as subject, author and creative director. The message had less to do with fucking than it did fucking with people and highlighting media and consumer hypocrisy.

It's a fascinating era in her career and she was admirably fearless. Madonna made her point but (as was to be expected) it went over many heads back in 1992 and is still difficult for some people to grasp 22 years later.

I think it's healthy not to remember every pic from a book that was released more than 20 years ago.

Exactly. She was paying homage to some of M's favorite artists: Cindy Sherman, Man Ray, Warhol, Fellini. The list goes on and on. People are so driven by the fact that there's nudity and that Madonna "bares all," but in reality, there's no penetration. It's a great companion piece to Erotica, which references several tracks on the record.

There's not even pussy lips. My tireless efforts notwithstanding, I have never seen M's pussy...:rotfl:

Sorry, but i think that it as Madonna being on the very top of trying to provoke. Of course the book is incredibly well made, the pictures are simply flawless, but she was more into provoking than giving a message about hypocrisy or homages.
