Why don't we just close this thread instead?

I already pm'ed Hector about it but he hasn't been around for several days...

November is not a rumor, it's official, as it was said by Guy Oseary.

I'm excited to watch it over and over again. S&S was my first Madonna concert. There's just so much to take in at a show like that. I think back and I totally can't remember anything she did during LAP and She's Not Me. I'm just so excited to see the DVD and suddenly remember things. God I can't wait for the next tour!

According to Mario (MadonnaTribe webmaster), "Iconography" is *not* the working title of the hits collection ("it's something...more obvious") and that it is *not* scheduled for release in September - the S & S DVD is the September release. He's "unable to comment" further at this stage.

Good news about the imminent release and the promo. Its their first release together so it makes sense that they would want it to sell well. And I wish they give her her first Bluray DVD although i dont know if HD would be a wise choice at 50. Heh.

They better released it in blu-ray!

Cant wait to see this concert in a 50" plasma and with such high quality. That will be awsome...!!!

They could have sold a nice amount of DVD's at the merchandise stand. I think a lot of casual fans

would b tempted 2 pic up the DVD after the gig...u know the kind that would never go in2 a record store.. :fag:

Hopefully the new segments were filmed and will be included. Granted, we have yet to see "Angel," "Borderline" and "Everybody" from The Virgin Tour, or "You'll See" from Drowned World Tour on an official release...

Well I do hope the November date is still correct, but MadonnaUnderground.nl posted this press release about the show being broadcast on Dutch tv and the full one will happen in November... I hope it doesn't mean the DVD is delayed till January or something!!!

Sticky & Sweet DVD press release Buenos Aires

STICKY & SWEET – BUENOS AIRES

4 SOLD OUT SHOWS FOR 250,000 FANS

The start of the concert was moments away. She was about to take the ‘Sticky &

Sweet’ stage which had been built by 200 local workers and the travelling party

of 250 stage hands. She would soon be in front of 60,000 plus adoring and

worshipful fans on a rainy and stormy night at the famed River Plate Soccer

Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The specially designed stage once

completed would hold 350 tons of equipment, 100,000 feet of electrical cable, 9

hydraulic lifts, a 1935 Auburn Spedster Car, some the of greatest dancers in the

world, a killer band and a blonde girl from Michigan whose name is Madonna

Louise Veronica Ciccone. T

LIKE A PRAYER - Madonna softly whispered to her troupe of dancers and band

members tightly huddled together during their group prayer backstage: “I don’t

know if all of you know my history with Buenos Aires…It’s where I opened my

eyes.. It’s where I became awake. There’s something so special about this

place. The people are amazing..Not only so great to look at but…their spirit…I

am so excited to be awakened again.”

THE TRUTH IS I NEVER LEFT YOU - For days before the start of four

historical shows in Argentina, thousands of fans had slept on the streets around

the stadium so they could find a spot as close to the stage as possible. Close to

the brightest star of the night. Once inside, the massive crowd literally roared for

Madonna for hours and hours.. Madonna’s love fest with Argentina and

Argentina’s love fest with Madonna was in full tilt when the crowd first caught

sight of the Material Girl on the stage surrounded by her extraordinary dancers.

The love fest would continue for close to two hours. After several songs,

Madonna screamed out, “It’s soooo good to be back. This is my favorite city and

15 years is way too long to be away” And Madonna had a big surprise for her

fans. She would serenade them with the anthemic, “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina”

in front of a huge Argentinian flag. At this point, the audience started screaming,

“Evita…Evita…Evita..” The crowd serenaded Madonna back and sang along to

their leading lady – the First Lady – Viva Madonna!

With a total of 30 cameras shooting from every possible angle over two nights,

Darius Khanji, Director of Photography (who last worked with Madonna during

the filming of “Evita”), directors Nathan Rissman and Nick Wickham understood

that they had a serious mission – an almost impossible one. They needed to

perfectly capture the electricity in the stadium – the sheer force of Madonna’s

performance along with everyone else on stage. And succeed they did.

Madonna and the show’[s director Jamie King conceived a brilliant show.

Buenos Aires would be the culmination of every show that preceeded it – the

perfect storm of an artist in the town she loved. Madonna was determined to do

something at these shows that would make this her most unforgettable four

shows ever. For added drama, the shows almost didn’t happen. It’s a long story

about a plane filled with equipment getting stuck on a runway in Panama and

another plane stuck in fog in Sacramento.. But the gods wouldn’t fail Madonna

and she wouldn’[t fail Buenos Aires.

From the opening song, “Candy Shop” which began in a rain that magically

stopped during the second song “The Beat Goes On”.No one was raining on this

diva’s parade. “I have picked the perfect place to do my show. There’s no

mistake that we picked Buenos Aires to film the DVD” echoed Madonna at one

point during the evening. The weather got officially warm when Madonna’s show

stopping “Vogue” began and the crowd got hotter by the second. The fans

energy was gathering…”You’re a Superstar.. That’s What You Are.” 64,000 wild

Argentinians let their bodies “move to the music”. By the time Madonna tore into

“Borderline” (“one of my favorite songs to do for my fans”) the crowd jumped up

and down and up and down until the last note of her tour d’force. Whether it was

the joyous “Get Into The Groove” with Madonna skipping rope to the

kaleidoscope of grafitti and bright colors or the celebratory “Music” or the

poignant and heartbreaking “You Must Love Me,” there was not an emotion that

wasn’t expressed between Madonna and her audience under the stars each

night.

But as Madonna said in her prayer before the show – there was something

special about Buenos Aires on that steamy December night between her and the

crowd. When she began singing “Life is a mystery. Everyone must stand alone.. I

hear you call my name and it feels like home” – that was the ultimate high of the

night because it was clear, the people of Buenos Aires were there for Madonna

and indeed – Madonna had finally returned home to Buenos Aires.. Her

People…Their Star.

On Tribe forum they are saying it's going to be a Warner release after all... bad news! :-(

Now I can imagine everything, including a January 2010 release and another stupid live CD that features all 3 interludes.

Well, maybe this is too much to hope, but I am kind of hoping we get an 'official' confirmation of release date (and maybe some answers to our questions about bonus content) with a little promo piece inserted into CELEBRATION. Remember how they had little inserts inside COADF for a free trial membership in ICON? That's the kind of thing I'm imagining. Or, at least maybe a promo sticker. ON THE OUTER WRAPPER -- NOT ON THE CASE. Gosh, I hate when they put the sticker right on the actual product on not on the shrink wrap. [/endrant]
