WTF! Hard Candy up to #3 in Austria! That's a massive 16 spot jump! Is there any offer or Austrians just happened to love it this week? Singles also go up coincidently...

Also up to #22 in Spain and to #5 in Mexico.

The chart was out today and she is back up to the TOP 30 at #24 in Portugal.

This must be the Tour antecipation as Newspapers talk about her for the past 15 days non-stop and her Lisbon concert is already on September 14th :D

Album off the Top 50 of the Australian chart. I think there is a site that published the Top 100 Albums chart, will try to track this week's position.

Spent 16 weeks on the Australian chart. In comparison, American Life was gone after 7 weeks.

In Flanders it already outperformed American Life (16 weeks) and in a month or less, it's gonna outperform that album with chart longevity in every country except France.

Ten Weeks Atop Euro Chart For Coldplay

August 28, 2008

By Paul Sexton, London

Coldplay's reign on European Top 100 Albums moves into double figures as "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" (Parlophone), starts a tenth week at No. 1. Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" (Virgin) begins a third week atop Eurochart Hot 100 Singles.

The Coldplay album is down to the last of its remaining No. 1 berths - in France. It falls from the top in Holland and the Belgian region of Wallony. But it holds at No. 4 in Spain and moves up 7-6 in Italy.

The entire top ten of the pan-European album chart is unchanged, with the exception of two titles that trade places. Abba's "Gold - Greatest Hits" (Polydor/Universal) moves up 6-5 as Amy Macdonald's "This Is The Life" (Mercury/Universal) moves in the other direction.

The Abba compilation is at No. 2 again in the United Kingdom and Ireland and climbs 6-4 in Norway. Macdonald's album holds at No.3 in Flanders and No.4 in Germany and Holland.

Let's hope something similar happens again. Although, she is only doing one night in the Netherlands this time (instead of two). Last time, COADF went 54-28-17 leading up to the tour before dropping again. I hoping for a Top 5 placement this time with Hard Candy, but we'll see.

Slipknot, Perry Reign In Europe

September 04, 2008 - Global | Retail | Rock and Pop

By Paul Sexton, London

Slipknot scores an instant No. 1 on European Top 100 Albums with "All Hope Is Gone" (Roadrunner), while there's a fourth week on Eurochart Hot 100 Singles for Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" (Virgin/EMI).

Slipknot's chart-topping European debut follows consecutive No. 2 entries on the aggregate chart for its last two albums, 2004's "Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses)" and "Iowa" in 2001. The new set arrives at No. 1 in Finland and Switzerland, and enjoys three further No. 2 debuts, in Germany, Austria and the United Kingdom, the latter on sales of 49,000. It's in at No. 3 in France, Ireland and Norway, No. 4 in Denmark, No. 7 in Portugal and No. 9 in Spain.

Coldplay's reign on the pan-European chart thus comes to an end, as "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" (Parlophone/EMI) falls 1-2, despite climbing back 2-1 in Holland, 4-3 in Italy, 6-5 in Portugal and 11-9 in Poland. Duffy's "Rockferry" (A&M/Universal) is also off by one place to No. 3, although it climbs 3-2 in Sweden.

Coldplay's Parlophone labelmate the Verve, reunited on album for the first time in 11 years, hits Top 100 Albums at No. 4 with "Forth." That's after a No. 1 debut in the United Kingdom with 72,000 sales, as well as starts of No. 2 in Ireland and No. 10 in Germany.

Polydor/Universal's "Mamma Mia!" soundtrack falls to No. 5 overall after two weeks at No. 3, although it's still No. 1 in Austria, Greece, Hungary, Norway and Denmark. Also down two places on Top 100 Albums is Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" (Universal Island), which slips 4-6, dropping out of the composite top five for the first time since late November last year. "Black" is up 7-5 in France.

Three titles fall a place each on the pan-European top ten in positions 7-9: Amy Macdonald's "This Is the Life" (Mercury/Universal), Madonna's "Hard Candy" (Warner Bros.) and Paul Potts' "One Chance" (Syco Music/Sony BMG). Madonna climbs 11-8 in Greece and Potts holds at No. 1 in Germany.

German star Sarah Connor's local arrival at No. 3, and a No. 5 start in Austria, fuel a No. 10 debut on Top 100 Albums for "Sexy as Hell" (X-Cell/Universal). That's slightly down on her overall No. 6 debut, and No. 1 start in Germany, with "Naughty But Nice" in 2005.

Perry's single holds at the top of the Eurochart after securing a fourth week at No. 1 in the United Kingdom, where sales to last weekend had reached 197,000. It also leads the singles charts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark and Ireland, and climbs 5-2 in the Belgian region of Flanders and 5-3 in Italy.

The top five titles are unchanged on the Eurochart, on which Swedish DJ-artist Eric Prydz is the highest newcomer at No. 8 with "Pjanoo" (Data). Sales of 29,000 take it into the U.K. chart at No. 2.

Germany: #23 (-7) - and that includes the "Berlin effect."

Granted there are multiple entries above her. Maybe we'll see more movement upward with two more dates in that country.
