Arnian
Not surprised but it is genuinely shocking she couldn't even get a best female nomination or best dancing. 3 solid videos this era and nothing

Guest Leonardo M.
it sucks but I think they nominate hits only 7/11 wasn't a hit... it was a bonus track in a re-release album and it was nominated even for best chorography, like... wtf... best editing... Guest Leonardo M.
Seriously, how can they nominated a video like 7/11 for best editing and best chorography and ignored videos like bitch i'm madonna and ghosttown? such a joke!
Flip The Switch
Those nominations doesn't even make sense (not only because of M with 3 wonderful videos). Worst ever.
Roland Barthes
who cares ? Even Madonna gave away her MTV trophys, they all appeared in auctions throughout the years, she clearly does not give a damn and probably does not have an award room like some other insecure divas. Jazzy Jan
I have thought for years that awards are not important, especially music awards. Elvis, The Beatles, David Bowie, Abba and of course Madonna never got the love and respect they deserved. All are more influential, talented, copied and loved than others who scooped the awards. Always seems to go with the flavour of the month or year who are also never controversial.

Andra
Beyoncé And Taylor Swift Earn MTV VMA Nods While Madonna Is Completely SnubbedBeyoncé and Taylor Swift are having a great day. Both artists received a slew of MTV VMA Nominations. They are joined by Ed Sheeran, who has also received multiple nominations. Beyoncé’s video for “7/11” earned nominations for Video of the Year, Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, and Best Choreography. The video for “7/11” was described as “savvy superficiality” by the Guardian. “She’s pop’s Benny Hill! She’s also its savviest businesswoman, and – for all the goofing around – the 7/11 clip is as steely an insistence as ever that she is the world’s biggest pop star.” Taylor Swift, the only other pop star more popular than Beyoncé now, received multiple nods for the video for “Bad Blood,” which include Video of the Year, Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, Best Collaboration (with Kendrick Lamar), Best Cinematography, and some others. Surprisingly, Madonna, who is largely responsible for the existence of MTV, was completely snubbed. Though the video for “Ghosttown” is a fan favorite, it is believed that the video for “B***h I’m Madonna” was the one submitted for consideration. The video, which has received more than 60 million views since its release last month, is Madonna’s biggest hit in years. “B***h I’m Madonna” has received wildly mixed reviews. Her critics consider the video desperate, while her fans, for the most part, think the video is just ironic fun, where Madonna is completely in on the joke. Jason Lipshitz from Billboard thinks Madonna’s latest is one of the best this year. “Forget the all-star cameos by Katy Perry, Kanye West, Beyonce and Miley Cyrus — no jammed-in cameos can steal the spotlight from Madonna’s unhinged party scene, which includes booty-shaking, shot-taking, a bathtub make-out, and Madge crowd-surfing like a wild teenager.” The Daily Beast, however, thought Madonna’s video was just plain sad. “For all of the talk of these megawatt celebrity appearances, Madonna, who filmed the video at the bar at the top of the Standard Hotel, couldn’t even get most of them to show up on location to shoot with her.” Beyoncé is one of the stars in Madonna’s video. Last year, not only did Beyoncé earn the Video Vanguard Award, but she performed a medley of hits and was widely praised for her performance. MTV thought Beyoncé’s video was flawless. “On Sunday night (August 25), she took viewers on an emotional journey with a well-orchestrated medley from her recent, self-titled album, that ended with tears as she accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award from her husband, Jay-Z,” noted the review. The 2015 MTV VMAs will be hosted by Miley Cyrus. However, it’s quite possible that Beyoncé will be the one to truly rule the show. http://www.inquisitr.com/2270802/beyonce-and-taylor-swift-earn-vma-nods-while-madonna-is-completely-snubbed/
nemo64
Entertainment Weekly also thinks that M was snubbed. Link There is no transparency when it comes to nominations and wins for these types of awards, and it is pretty meaningless anyway. The silver lining, I suppose, is that in making the entertainment news cycle by being declared snubbed when considered worthy by some may possibly drive more curious traffic to the three RH videos. Good if that happens!
HolidayGuy
The VMAs has gone downhill since fans/the public started determining nominees and/or winners in the major categories. So, yes, the snubs are no shocker.
karbatal
Well those awards are nowadays bought. The only bad thing is that now she won't perform i guess
Jamesy
In 1993 when Bad Girl, Rain, Fever, Deeper & Deeper failed to get nominated in ANY of the non-technical categories, I realised the VMAs were just a TV show about promoting whoever was considered "the hottest" at the time. This was the first year they'd snubbed her like that - even Madonna videos which weren't actual videos got nominated for "Best Female Video" and "Best Dance Video" in 1991 and 1992 ffs!!! Previously I had stupidly thought the VMAs were a serious annual recognition of the music video artform. And sure enough when Madonna was "cool" again in 1998, they were falling over themselves to nominate her once more.
elijah
It pains me too much to see Madonnas best work since COADF totally snubbed even by MTV. I think LFL video should ve been among the contenders for video of the year at least. Its classy and stylish. Sure it wasn't a hit but wow that album deserves all the honors it could get. Lets hope the Grammies doesn't care about commercial success as much!
anastaza
Sadly, not at all surprised. I don't even think it's worth relying on them for anything related to her. Guest Rachelle of London
I love Beyonce but 7/11 shouldnt be nommed for so many AT ALL! madmark
The whole show is one big advertisement for artists/actors to promote their latest projects... it has to be one of the least meaningful awards, right down there with the People's Choice Awards.
madmark
With that said, I'd only like for her to get nominated for the exposure... but like someone else said, the awards seem to nominate the hits, or in another case, Beyonce gets WAY too much love. I swear, they barely even look at the videos, just give that awful, awful, awful video 7/11 noms because Beyonce is still one of the "it" artists. MTV is a motherfucking sham.
