Mmmmm
Billboard probably got paid lots for this blatant promo for this "legend". No wonder they are up Gagas asshole, so much freebies and payola going on. Billboard has become a joke!

He's almost as bad as some of the deludes in here True dat. I read the interview and I was embarrassed. My favorite part is "The new generation doesn’t always understand that true art should fucking hurt you. This record has definitely hurt me, and the other records have hurt me, and you’ve got to push forward." That sounds like something Lady Gaga would say, not a fucking DJ Pathetic, now everyone can be happy.

Braby
Now this is all over, how would you guys feel about a similar sort of marketing strategy for the new album? Slowly building up hype with a mysterious single (no vocals obviously), and then revealing who it was at a later date. It wouldn't harm her, especially if radio are reluctant to play her new song because of age/other silly reasons. Obviously it would have to be done on a bigger scale (We-R-Superstars wasn't played anywhere outside of a few dance-orientated specialist shows) but it would be an interesting way to kick-boost a new campaign if it was done RIGHT. I'm not sure how she would go about it though, and the real single would have to drop when interest was at its peak (and it would be hard for radio to get on board if they didn't know who it was). Or would you just prefer a conventional premiere on Ryan Seacrest's show or something similar?

Kim
I'm sure there will some who still thinks the track is Madonna. Can we close the thread already? Please? I'm sure Madonna dropped this track after the SECRET was revealed too early and spoiled the big reveal. I'm sure Billboard are preparing themselves for lawsuits from irate wordsmiths ...for printing DAMN LIES.

Raf
I'm sorry but when the snippet first came out and the speculation began, everyone here was pretty excited. Where were these supposed sane fans that were hoping/praying this wasn't Madonna then? Yes, it all got out of hand when the eviudence started pointing out not to be M and yes, there were a couple of posters that were delirious but when it first happened, the overall reaction was very positive. Kim
Who's everyone? Those that shout the loudest? There wasn't the slightest hint other than the word VOGUE from that silly Billboard piece this was even anything to do with Madonna - and the 4 sec clip sounded just as dated and shit as the full length version. Granted, when the clip was REVEALED to be Sander Kleinenberg...oh, two weeks ago... and ppl still fawned over it and thought it was Madge, that was when the idiocy went up a notch. Glindathegood
I said from the beginning I didn't think much of the clip and hoped it wasn't Madonna. I thought it was a cheap copy of the disco influenced stuff she had done before on Confessions and Music and I didn't see her going in this direction given the producers she was working with. But I can see why people were hoping it was her. We are all just desperate for some new music from her and hungry for some info, so I think it's perfectly understandable. But I do think Billboard lost a lot of credibility claiming this guy was a dance legend when he himself considers himself an unknown dj. It wouldn't have been so bad if it was found to be by some well known dj/remixer. I'm not the most hardcore club/dance music but I do follow dance/electronic music in a casual way and I never heard of this guy. He's not on the recent list of Top 100 dj's that DJ magazine does every year. But I think if you're a well known dj or a superstar like Madonna, you wouldn't need to do a secret guessing game to generate interest in your new song. You already have plenty of fans who are hungry for your stuff. This type of thing is a gimmick that an unknown person would come up with to get people interested in their song which would otherwise be ignored. I said that several times on here before, but people were saying this was a great promotion strategy for Madonna which I don't think it would be.
