Brisy_Boy Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 planned release date for Give It 2 Me in UK: 07/07/2008 Isn't that a bit late for second single to come out?
Zezwer Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Isn't that a bit late for second single to come out? yeah I think so... feels like they gonna fuck up the follow-up single releases this time like they've done during the whole 00's... I dunno if it's Warner's fault... but if it is i'm glad Madonna is leaving them finally
Guest kangarooz Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Today, The OCC have said that NONE of the 4 'Free' Madonna Albums at Tesco, will have their Tesco 'Sales' counted towards Sunday's Album Chart. Only Sales of those 4 Albums outside Tesco will be counted.

Guest kangarooz Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 "Ray Of Light" and "Music" are no longer Top 200. "Confessions" will still show a sales increase from last week, but the way "The Immaculate Collection" is heading, it my end up lower than last week's position''
Guest powerofgoodbye Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 (edited) I think she should be able to hold for another week at #1. Wiley is not a threat to her but Sam Sparro is. He had 3 versions charted. #3, #31 & #39, the combine bar is longer than Madonna #2 & #33 for 4 minutes and GI2M is at #62 now. Edited May 3, 2008 by powerofgoodbye
Nightshade Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Isn't that a bit late for second single to come out? Well, "Sorry" was released in the UK about 14 weeks after Confessions' release week. If July 7 is the release date for "Give It 2 Me" then it's happening about 10 weeks post-release (or a month sooner). So, it's a shorter window than last time. Granted, "Hung Up" was a single that just wouldn't quit in Europe. Radio add date on the other hand, will probably be much sooner. In fact, I bet the 2nd single will be on Radio 1's playlist by early June (if not sooner).

Guest Hafo Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 There are no midweeks on Saturday, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow Only missing info that may be available would be Friday's sales...
Guest Hafo Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Yay! If she keeps the #1 position over the next few days , she might get another week at the top of the charts on Sunday week! She has the album version at #34, and Give It To Me PO Mix is at #69 btw. Wiley seems to be deflating, hope that translates into weak physical sales too.
Guest kangarooz Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 4 mins won't last 4 weeks at number one, Coldplays new single is released on monday for download so that will be number 1 for sure, even if quite a lot downloaded it for free this week x

That should help the single at #01 for sure... the media buzz will be the BIGGEST! She probably returned to #01 thanks to all the news on her US show and also MTV weekend with MADONNAs Month (May) non stop specials
Guest powerofgoodbye Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Surprise!! She is back at itunes #1 again. The other 4m charted at #33. GI2M at #70 The only threat Sam Sparro at #3, #22 & #40.

Guest Danny86 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 This was written before Duffy's album debuted on the chart, but tonight it's going to be relevant again: (by Zeus555 @ UKMix) On Sunday, Duffy will become only the 10th Female Solo Act to Top BOTH UK Charts in the same Week - the Singles & Albums Charts. And only the 2nd BRITISH Solo Female to ever manage it - Leona Lewis was the first. This is in almost 52 Years of the UK Album Chart. (It began on July 28th 1956). Only 10 Solo Females have managed to Top both UK Charts in the same Week:, Barbra Streisand (1980), Madonna (1986, 1989, & 2005), Whitney Houston (1987), Mariah Carey (1994), Celine Dion (1995), Kylie Minogue (2001), Beyonce Knowles (2003), Rihanna (2007), Leona Lewis (2007), & Duffy (2008). Madonna is the only one to have done it more than once - 3 times, & Celine Dion is the only one to manage it for as long as 5 Weeks in a row.... So Madonna is about to do it for a 4th time! Hard Candy is going to be her 10th #1 album. How is she ranked among artists with most #1 albums?

Dr Lecter Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 fom everyhit.com obv needs updating now The Beatles with 15 chart-toppers. Top solo artist is Elvis Presley with 11 (as of Aug 2007). In second place for a solo artist - and the female with most weeks at no. 1 in the album chart - is Madonna with 9 (though other artists featured with her on the soundtrack to "Evita").
