Guest FuckBuddy Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 such a shame shitlife managed to overtake her at the last minute. great sales, though.
aeroco Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 (edited) So it's in the BARGAIN BINS upon release. I'm sure the LOONS are buying both the regular and special editions of this. There is NO WAY this will do 75k by the weekend; it will be lucky to do 50k. *FLUSH* She ended up with over 82k Although you can gloat over Westlife, it has horrible that Westlife can increase their sales over just one week by 60%. Indicates they will be number 2 this December, behind Leona Edited December 2, 2007 by aeroco
Riverwide Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 She's appearing on the highly-rated show BBC show tonight, "Strictly Come Dancing". Apparently she's going to sing "2 Hearts", but I really think she should ditch that and do "In My Arms".
Guest Eternal Flame Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 She's appearing on the highly-rated show BBC show tonight, "Strictly Come Dancing". Apparently she's going to sing "2 Hearts", but I really think she should ditch that and do "In My Arms". That would be a good idea but In My Arms (it's not even 100% confirmed that's the second single) is not set for release until the end of February.
Riverwide Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 That would be a good idea but In My Arms (it's not even 100% confirmed that's the second single) is not set for release until the end of February. That's irrelevant. The *album* is out right now, and essentially the most important thing is to sell that.
karbatal Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Although 2 Hearts is going nowhere among her fanbase, it has appealing for casual buyers and that's why it's still at top 10. It's not crazy to perform it on tv. Of course, on January 1st. the new single should be sent to radiostations, there's no use to wait until february!

It's not crazy to perform it on tv. Rubbish. Everyone who wants to, has by now heard "2 Hearts". Performing it on another TV show is pointless. It's time to get another song out there NOW. A GOOD one this time.
karbatal Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I think that a song that is at top 10 after 3 weeks shouldn't be ditched so soon. There's plenty of time to listen to In My Arms. And if everybody who wante the song has already bought it, it would have plummeted sooner.

They need to let the MANY people who were turned off by "2 Hearts" hear a truly decent song, so that the album will have legs through the Christmas sales period.
karbatal Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 She has sold 82.000 copies. I think that's pretty enough for only a week. If sales decreased dramatically, they could change things, but there's nothing clear. I don't think that people who were turned off from 2 Hearts haven't bought the album, because it's one of her best weeks ever. Only Fever sold more.

karbatal Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Yes, but that's her career and that's why she shouldn't be worried if she sold "only" 82.000 copies, neither should EMI.
Riverwide Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 It *is* a respectable result. All I'm saying is that it's time to push the album further by exposting a new track to people. I'm not saying she should release "In My Arms" at 6:50 tonight. I'm just saying that she should perform it. It makes perfect sense. Whether or not you care to admit it. "2 Hearts" has NOT been a big smash, so why waste any more time on it?
Riverwide Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 OMG Girls Aloud are #3 Fair enough. It's not a *great* song. Where is their album now?

"2 Hearts" has NOT been a big smash, so why waste any more time on it? I have admited that 2 Hearts have been a relative flop, but i think they are wise to promote it till January. She has already presented the whole album in a tv special and you are right that it could be a good idea to present new songs, but only if she can sing the single too. 2 Hearts is not damaging Kylie's career at all, in my opinion. And sometimes things work different in terms of public, because if they keep the second single until the end of Christmas, people will be thristy of something more Kylies-que. I guess the market is very saturated right now, with the promo from the album, the KYlie show, the docu on tv...

Riverwide Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I have admited that 2 Hearts have been a relative flop, but i think they are wise to promote it till January. She has already presented the whole album in a tv special Not for the first time, you are quite wrong. She did *not* present the whole album in the TV special. In what must go down as one of the most idiotic decisions of her entire career, she neglected to perform the song with the biggest hit potential, "In My Arms". There would be NO point in performing "2 Hearts" again. As I have ALREADT said, people have ALREADY heard it and it has ALREADY done it's job. It was NOT a big success, so TIME TO MOVE ON.

Riverwide Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 It'll be interesting to see what happens to "X" this week. It'll either tumble quickly or hold-up 'til Christmas. It really could go either way.
Guest Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 04 05 KT Tunstall Saving My Face I'm really suprised radio have taken to this one. Quite apart from the fact it's an ordinary album track, it's done fuck all for the album despite extensive airplay the last few weeks. "Drastic Fantastic" has even had prime time tv adverts, yet is still languishing down in the lower reaches of the Top 50.
karbatal Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 If the album plummets, all the alarms will shout at EMI!!!!!!!! And many fans will throw themselves to a fire shouting like crazy, hahahaha.

Not at all surprised that it's had little impact on the album.
