So many that should have reached #1 and were stopped by some random phenom. Not this time! This is true. Ray of Light, Rebel Heart, The Immaculate Collection and Erotica all should have been #1 albums. A shame ugh...but they still sold a ton.

rebelgirl Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 Congratulations Madonna, you deserve it! Madame X is a wonderful album. is the reward for hard work, perseverance, never give up despite always finding stones in your way.
HolidayGuy Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 90,000 is the sales unit; we don't know the breakdown of physical and digital. It will be No. 1 on Top Album Sales and Internet Albums, most likely. Possibly Digital Albums. Not sure about Vinyl Albums. RH peaked at 2 on the latter.
Rebel Saviour Posted June 23, 2019 Author Posted June 23, 2019 90,000 in pure sales is a very solid number and not only for a veteran act in 2019 sales climate. For comparison LIl Nas X is projected to hit number one next week with 70k units and only 4-7k copies in album sales...
HolidayGuy Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 Most importantly, in terms of this chart, enjoy this moment, in 2019, and, please- no dramatics for next week's chart and the inevitable big drop. Thanks.
headonfire Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 Congratulations. This album deserves all the success!
Guest jamesshot Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 So, did I read correctly that this is the best number in terms of albums sold so far this year for a female act? Yes, @HolidayGuy everyone needs to enjoy this moment. Next week is next week. She has the #1 album in the USA right now. Huge achievement. I think this is the first #1 in the summer (well our summer) since TB.
HolidayGuy Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 ^Fourth-largest sales week for a female this year (excluding A Star is Born, which is also credited to Bradley Cooper). Ones with higher sums: * Billie Ellish: 170,000 * Ariana Grande: 116,000 * Pink: 95,000

FreeMySoul Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 Let's come back in 30 years or so to see how those ladies are selling then
Elysium Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 So very well deserved! Congratulations Madonna on all of the hard work...and to all the fans too! Such a fantastic, unique and experimental album!

They won't even reach a tenth fraction of what M has at 37 years into her career. And with the direction the music industry is moving, they will be lucky to even have a career.

toujours Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 As it should be. Take a bow, Madame X. More # 1s to come!
RyanAnth4 Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 So well deserved for Madame X which in my opinion is a masterpiece. I love it
Guest jamesshot Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 Madonna doesn't need to chart ever again and her legacy, her place atop the music industry, is secure. She will never be not relevant, even after she dies. There will never be any one like her again.
