I wonder if other celebrities have fanbases that are this critical?????  Especially 37 years in????  If M wears grills to a child's soccer game or uses a phone filter, she is lambasted and people seem to conveniently ignore that this is the same person that brought us 13 stellar albums (14 if you count Breathless), more than 80 official singles, many of them pbeyond legendary, and 10 absolutely insane tours that set the standard for the entire industry.  If Madonna wants to play with camera filters, wear grills, gain or lose weight, or has a bad hair or wig day.... I am so cool with it.  Really I am.  M has given us a lot.  Long live the Queen.

I would say celebrities as genuinely polarizing  as her do have critical fanbases. there are just not many anymore that are.

You know when you have one of those friends on Facebook that just posts updates on their kids that nobody is interested in. Please Madonna, don’t be that person.

I can see this being true and then the more Latin song slowly trickling into American charts and it becoming the next big thing for a moment...#dreamingisfree

I’m LOVING the eye makeup...is it her hair...I mean it looks like a wig but maybe they dyed it all the way through and that’s why it looks like that...?

Definitely a wig; eyes tight. I truly love this look, very 70’s soft porn atmosphere.

Referencing Picasso adds some credence to those artists that have been rumored to be doing visuals in capacity.

I love Picasso so I’m totally here for theme which feels organic...

I hope someone shows her the Artpop LP visuals so she can see how it SHOULDNT be done... and have a snort laugh while she glazes over the mediocrity!

Love this look.  Giving me Bad Girl video vibes a bit.

Would love it if this was for a video shoot and this and the Dark haired curly look were just 2 looks of all different characters in the video.

Im kind of over the duality theme though

Hard Candy

MDNA (different aspects of Madonna)

Rebel Heart

All deal with the rebel vs loving Madonna, I hope this isnt so straight forward

Well she was going through her divorce and heartbreak through all of these...I think that played into it...it seems as if she found a new love for life in Lisbon, for her children (a la ray of light) and seems refreshed ...this all has a different feeling to it. Of course, only time will tell! I want introspective Madonna meets sexy mature M with a persona.

Batuka was produced by Mirwais apparently.

Duality was always part of her gig though,

The name Madonna, Like A Virgin (Virgin/Whore)

Her videos frequently had two or more versions of herself, usually opposite of each another in some way.

I think the difference now is that back in the day it was natural; she's more aware of the early version of her brand and I think it became noticeable during Hard Candy thru today.

I agree but Im not talking about herself as a person or artist, but more to the songs itself on these albums.

I felt they were divided in “Fun” and “Mature/real songs”. And she’s the best when she does both at the same time.

LOVING the blonde wig pic!

It has a real 1940s French "Noir Film" feel with the hair and make up.

IMAGINE if she's already done album art and completed a couple of music videos ?!

Wig is nice but I don't understand what's going on with her eyes there, I don't like it.

She is wearing face lifting tape to tighten the eye area like she did with the black wig.
