Happy 23rd Vogue!

Just might be my most favorite Madonna song of all time. But no shocker there.

I've heard some argue that the sound is dated, etc...whatever. To me, it's classic. That sound is classic. As much as Billie Jean, Let It Be, or Jail House Rock is to Micheal, The Beatles, and Elvis... Vogue is Madonna's iconic and signature number.

Every performance of it has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. The epitome of theatrical pop performance art done to the highest level.

As for the song, the composition itself is just amazing. Listen to the instrumental. It's built more like a musical stage number than a mere pop song.

It's just lush...and stunning...and elegant... like if life itself was a Broadway musical, this would be the draw-dropping opening or closing number.

It's just everything.

Iconic. Classic. Madonna.

i had goosebumps when i first saw the video... I thought that she was the most beautiful woman that ever lived. I love the song. I remember thinking around 1998-2003 she ll never sing it again. Then she come out on a platform doing yoga moves and I love it. All the performances are great.

i remember exactly where i was & what i was doing when i first heard 'Vogue' [new entry on the UK charts countdown]. an amazing track. strangely, I wasn't too keen on the mixes / remixes etc - thought they could've been better, but the album and single versions are ace

23 years!!!

*crap Dr Lecter Madonna song anecdote*

It was my first year at BIG SCHOOL (I was 12) and we had heard that she had a new song coming out. I think then I saw in Smash Hits it had a still from the video, where she is reflected in the mirror under her face.

Then the video. Our Science teacher had seen TOp of te pops as condemned is all and Madonna as sinful as you could see her boobs.

Then that Easter we had a school disco. Everyone did the dance.

Totally agree, I know at the ToD Perfume Q&A she said it was Express Yourself, that is the song most represents her the best and as good as it is, I think it's Vogue, the song, the lyrics, the video, the live performances, the killer opening and what an amazing way to close the main set of Blond Ambition.

23 years though
