Ai Papi Si. Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 And that's about 420,000 in attendance! WORK IT!
Ai Papi Si. Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Oh ma gaw ya'll, checkout the Italian dates... SO many people went to see her between the 3 cities... 'LUXE!!!
Ai Papi Si. Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 ^ It's hard to judge because Europe did amazing during S&S, and it's only done "ok" in comparison this time around. I think the real bulk of this tour's money is gonna come from the Americas.
Ai Papi Si. Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Also, her big European moneymakers on the last tour were France, London, and Switzerland, and she hasn't hit those yet at this point. Exciting to see how she'll do! I'd love for her to break her own record, but I don't know if that'll happen or not, I guess a box office expert will have to shine a light on that.
mr_boogiewoogie Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 It is closer to S&S Part II as far as Europe's attendance is concerned. She is doing great especially considering the backlash, no hits, no promotion. Like she said in New York during the Girlie Show, "if this is a career slump, then make it last foreveaaaahhhh" ;-)
dollhouse Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 interesting how much money the empty looking (relatively speaking) Swedish Ullevi stadium brought to the table.. and these figures make it seem they were all totally sold out?
Skin Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 ^ It's hard to judge because Europe did amazing during S&S, and it's only done "ok" in comparison this time around. I think the real bulk of this tour's money is gonna come from the Americas. The two Yankee Stadium shows alone should to massive business I would think.
sotos8 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Madonna $ 49545712 of 14 shows Lady Gaga $ 23691507 of 15 shows (but only in Australia)
Msig Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Should I be surprised that Gothenburg was a technical sell-out when less than half of the 75,000 tickets were sold? I'm also surprised that Copenhagen sold less than 30,000 - on the day before the show, the CEO of Live Nation Denmark told Danish press that they expected the show to sell about 40,000 tickets. And while queueing, I was told by a Live Nation official that they had sold 36,000 tickets.
Narendra Sen Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Madonna is gonna make $ 8547725031 in Australia alone.

That said she's doing good business.
reQuiem4adream Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 That's pretty impressive for 14 shows. I'm glad all shows are reported as sold-out!

Sloane Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Normally I could care less how much money Madonna makes, but when it comes to tours it's different. A couple months ago all I cared about was she beat Lady Germ but now that's easily done! At this point it's about U2. I want her to beat them. It's not enough she be the highest grossing tour of a female solo artist, I want to get that NUMBER ONE ALL TIME. I really hope she beats U2 but she'd have to do nearly double S&S. Doubt it will happen but hope so! Good news that the tour is grossing well.
pasqual Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Ok..and how many shows she s going to play? With australia dates? (i belive there will be japan, pacific and some asian dates to) is it possible that she ll play something aroun 120 shows? am i crazy?

(i belive there will be japan, pacific and some asian dates to) is it possible that she ll play something aroun 120 shows? am i crazy? I don't think she'll do much more than 100 shows in total, unless the tour is extented with a fifth leg in the summer of 2013. Even if she does do 120 shows, she'll still need an average gross per show of more than $ 6 million in order to break U2's record. But in my book, beating her own record would be sufficient.
Louise Oriole Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I think that she might've sold more for a particular date(s), but as long as the expected number is met, then that's what's reported. I think that happened in Russia for SST. There were 50-55kk people there, but the box office number was less than 30k probably because that's the expected sell out number.
