The concert is broadcast at 21.15 on Saturday and the chart cut off point is midnight. Any effect on sales will happen next week.

Those sales are ABYSMAL - for the first time since the beginning of her career Madonna is looking like a singles act. Warners not running any ads for the album ain't helping either.

Well it's relative isn't it - it's still the number 1 selling album, meaning that all the sales are abysmal.

Those sales are AWFUL.

I didn't realize Scooter were only 500 behind - she's FUCKED - they're advertising that to death and there's been ZILCH for HC. The fact that she's barely ahead of an album that's been out for four months (Duffy) speaks VOLUMES.

I always said 4 Minutes was a SHIT lead single - it's appealing to people who wouldn't normally buy Madonna and not appealing to those who do.

See, I was RIGHT all along.

That "shit lead single" will probably be #1 for 4 weeks in a row. So maybe it is not so shitty, or do brits eat shit? Please let me all the weekend to find the truth! :demonic:

QB might have a slight point (not about the quality of the song, mind you) ... looks like European people have not been exposed yet to what Madonna herself is offering as a solo in Hard Candy. 4 Minutes at the end of the day is a collaboration effort, first time her lead single has this format, and that may explain its success a bit - it's Madonna PLUS Justin PLUS Wiki Wiki. But as an introduction to the album, it ain't immediate. So the average Brit or French or Dutch still won't have a clue of the rest of Hard Candy until "Give It 2 Me" is promoted.

In comparison, with COADF, "Hung Up" pretty much gave out the sound of the whole album.

Wait until GI2M it will impact Europe like a solo Madonna smash! Merci. It's actually very smart of her to release a song like 4 Minutes that appeals to non Madonna fans and the second single the opposite.

I haven't seen any adverts for HC either, but on Buzzjack, they said HC adverts have been running constantly on the TV??

Madonna still #1 on singles/albums on Friday midweeks, but...

1 1 20.7 HARD CANDY MADONNA

NEW 2 20.2 JUMPING ALL OVER THE WORLD SCOOTER

3 3 16.3 ROCKFERRY DUFFY

5 4 10 SAM SPARRO SAM SPARRO

2 5 9.6 THIRD PORTISHEAD

UGH

Either sales are missing or we're looking for a huge drop the size of Emma Bunton's forehead...

Read on Buzzjack, that those sales might be wrong x

Same in Haven, some people are saying that those numbers look "IFFY". Oh well, we'll have to wait until Sunday to find out if Scooter jumper all over the candy.

these numbers are disastrous

QB is right..as it seems , 4M doesnt sell the album..it might have been a hit mostly for the people who are into the Timbaland/Justin music and not so much for the casual Madonna fans....

Wow Estelle dropped fast this week! I can't believe that Madonna can't get to number 1 on airplay after coming off of two gigantic airplay hits with Hung Up & Sorry....I know 4 minutes is an "american" sound and all but still.... Nevertheless it's still doing well.

Yes, Scooter is #1 :/ :/

i can't believe :wow:

So, there will be probably only 1 week for Madonna at the top spot.

Maybe she can get the pole position back.

Sales are low and the gig yesterday could've an effect on her sales...
