Guest
You said the whole song is Babyface without any Madonna input or quality to it. I never said that at all. I said that the song had babyface's stamp over it just as DWRY had Timbaland's all over it. My point was that there is no difference at all. Other than that mongopoop could recognise the sound of Timbaland. Just like when people refer to Orbit as an underground/unknown producer. I mean, seriously. Ugh. Roland Barthes
*I wish there was an orchestral version of this track a la "I want you" because the Craig Armstrong strings are beautiful, the "chinese" melody Madonna came up with (that's the base of the song...can't remember in which interview she said that) is nice, the vocals are good, Babyface's voice adds a plus, the lyrics are great but the production is awful. Sounds like Celine and all the singers i despise so much.

He may not have been unknown where you are but I don't think major industry talents cared about him until Madonna used him.
acko
Well In a Greek BS interview in 1994 in Paris, Madonna said she considered TAB one of the best songs she'd ever written & went on 2 say she came up with the chorus melody while Babyface said in another interview that year that Madonna reinforced his faith in collaborative songwriting as she is actually a writer who brings something 2 the table. Case closed.
Guest Rachelle of London
He gave her one of her biggest hits of the decade. Of course she was going to give him a try again. Not true, Steve Bray, Patrick Leonard even bloody Jellybean all contributed to Ms biggest hits. she doesnt work with them anymore.

I'm certain it was more business than artistry despite the lushness of the track.

Guest Rachelle of London
In the UK Take a Bow has sold more than the COADF singles excl. HU and Sorry....and they were huge hits here. rb19
It is beautiful and Babyface makes it even better, the album version is lush, heartfelt and a great way to end the album, even if it's a bit odd after Sanctuary/Bedtime Story. But the production is quite dated and cheesy sounding now, and none of the remixes did anything interesting with it, I'd want to see it revived on tour with a radical approach. I think Kalakan could have brought it alive for MDNA alongside Masterpiece, but alas...
StrawberryBounce12
So how the fuck does Take a Bow sound like Madonna when it's CLEARLY got Babyface's stamp all over it? What's the difference? Please explain this to me because right now all I can see is pure imagination. Also, the wording of this thread title is rather telling...don't you think? My god, you people are hilarious. The non fan fans I mean. Oh stop trying to start shit. I'm a Madonna fan. Take the stick out. Such a drama queen. Do you have anything substantial to add to the discussion or did you just come here to bitch about supposed non-fans? You've been dying to "call me out" on that huh? LMAO What a joke. Anyway, TAB does not sound like other "Babyface" songs I've heard. Madonna brings her own style to the song. That's what an effective collaboration is about. What's not to get? As for Babyface, the tone of his voice just clashes with the rest of the song for me. I don't know why.
