Well I know UNO is not perfect but since the creation we didn’t have a world war. And it was independent enough to tell USA there were not mass weapons in Iraq again and again. Just one example

The UN is as powerful as the sum of its parts. When countries work together it can achieve more. There will always be a risk of stalling when major countries are obstinate.

At the very least it provides a public forum on a global scale. Dialogue is better than nothing.

Christmas cancelled in Bethlehem (Palestine),  while the church there denounces the genocide while Israel kills Christians among others. And ultra Christian USA is stopping the ceasefire.

Have you all been following the drama in the Red Sea over the past few weeks? Well in short the Houthis in Yemen have been targeting the world’s biggest ships heading to Israel or are Israeli owed, putting a hinderance on their economy and thus the US economy too. So last week the US set up a coalition (Operation Prosperity Guardian ) with various countries to counteract that but very quickly the coalition realised it wasn’t sustainable as they don’t have the ships or manpower to take it on and the whole thing collapsed.

A lot of major shipping companies have now to travel all the way around Africa to get into the Med, all this is slowing down deliveries at something like 30 days and there’s going to be major price hikes too. It’s been fascinating to watch!

This is a good account to follow on Twitter for up to date news on that particular situation, as by the time western media posts about it, it can be days later and with limited information.
