The things this paper has done to try to stay afloat in the digital world are actually killing it. Who the hell cares if Madonna got out of jury service?! It's quite obvious that they would never take her anyway, imagine the paparazzi and attention? It would be ridiculous. Like this article which is fiction for bored nobodies to feel better about their lives by turning their nose up at successful people. DO BETTER INDEPENDENT My first note is: There are a lot of people who cancel jury duty via medical, work, family etc. reasons. Why does Madonna have to be the individual who gets their name plastered like a nasty snobby person who believes jury duty is only for the little people (reference to Absolutely Fabulous comedy show in London). Madonna is going to reschedule. Obviously the judicial system accepted that reason. Blame the NYC Court Administrators and Judges for the Inequality and for letting Madonna receive favoritism! Blame the new Mayor. Second: The Jury System in the USA is antiquated, not run properly to begin with, filled with corruption and should be done away with. More advanced countries do not do this dumb stupid horrifying decision-making on deciding if someone's basic rights will be taken away from them for a certain period of time. Carta Posted June 1, 2014 Share Posted June 1, 2014 One of her followers on Facebook chastised her for posting a picture of her family outing over the Memorial Day long weekend, telling her that she should be ashamed of herself for getting out of Jury Duty for being sick and then having fun with her family (!!).
