Catboy
I'd be happy only if Madonna works with Pat Leonard co writing songs and Avicii as the producer (ala "Ray of Light" with Orbit). But I have no faith if she is also writing songs with Avicii.
rocknrolla
She is at least working with other songwriters, it was rumored in the other thread. The funny thing is, my favorite songs from ROL were the ones that did not involve Pat.
Rollap
I'm happy for her as long as she gets to fuck Avicii's brains out, takes him on tour and gets him to strip off for the behind-the-scenesDVD. :-)
Guest
But I do remember someone posting here who was one of the kids that M read to at one of her book signings Exactly. They are true fans now on all the M forums. Hopefully the I love cock thread wasn't the only draw for them though.

vocalism
Is that a tambourine I hear? Is she dusting off her VT tambourine for the tour? It would be so very! There's definitely some interesting stuff going on in his album. I just hope the songwriting is up to snuff. If it is, it could be an interesting album, similar to COADF. Barbie
So I'm just now listening to Avicii's album "True" (better late than never) and I actually really love it. I am not getting "generic" or "garbage" at all. Actually several of these songs are quite amazing. This makes me even more excited to see what him and Madonna come up with. When will people learn? Madonna knows best. Stop bitching and enjoy the ride! BRING IT M!
Barbie
And how dare ANYONE tell Madonna what she "should" do. It's one thing to voice your opinion on a random forum, but to take your bitching to her directly? Fuck you.
loomer
I don't know what to think of this, I'm a bit disappointed but it could be worse. I don't really see the appeal but that Hey Fucker song was a real earworm. Others are taking off that country meets edm sound like that Pigbull/Kesha track. Guest Loo Eli
I doubt very much Madonna is whiling away untold hours monitoring the input herself, so whatever personal assistant is handling the account may be blocking trolls to prevent further issues in line with Instagram's recommended terms of use. But not only from Madonnatribe etc. Deleting comments or barring such and such friends and followers are accusations that come up with nearly every post. Carta
I'm glad the Internet didn't exist in its present, accessible to all form back in the 80s and early 90s. Can you imagine the complaints about Madonna choosing to work with Pat Leonard and Steve Bray AGAIN on "Like A Prayer"? "Oh my God, what is she thinking?! WTG was just a poor copy of LIB, and CAC was just ITG Part 2! She's even plagiarised her own lyrics! Pat and Steve have GOT to go - they've lost their magic and now everything sounds the same. It's time for Madonna to move on and work with someone else". How completely and utterly wrong they would have been.... Then she dared to work with Pat again (for the FOURTH project in a row!) on IB...! What was she thinking?! Thank God she brought in someone new for "Vogue"...!!! The young 'uns may laugh, but there was criticism in the music press back in 1987 that WTG and CAC were a bit too similar to older tracks for their own good (I actually love both tracks). My point is that it doesn't matter what Madonna does or who she decides to work with, people are going to complain. If she decided to write every track by herself, people would complain bitterly ("all we're going to get is a lot of metaphors about time and people waiting and hesitating"). If she decided to write with a complete unknown, there would be a major meltdown, because people wouldn't be able to track down every single recording that he/she had ever produced and analyse it to death. If she decided to record with Pat Leonard again, then people would pray that she got someone else to produce it. She just can't win. Ultimately, Madonna chooses who she wants to work with based on what she likes the sound of. She's always asking for submissions from various artists for consideration, and when she hears something she likes, she explores it. We already know that William had been trying for years to work with her again (with no luck until 2011), and Sia is another who submitted material (at Guy/Madonna's request), but it was rejected. Avicii himself stated that he was working on a submission for Madonna in January, and obviously, she liked what she heard and they're now writing together. Regarding Timbaland, Timberlake and Pharrell, let's not forget that it was Stuart Price who suggested that she work with them when they were discussing what she wanted to do with her next album. When it comes to her musical output, Madonna has yet to disappoint me. I won't apologise for that - I honestly love every single album she's ever released, and although there are tracks that I don't like as much as others, she never fails to strike a chord with me. I don't care who she works with - I trust her musical instincts and am excited to hear what she produces next. What I don't like, though, is all the negativity to be found here and on other boards. We're all entitled to our opinions, but when you have people who haven't had a good word to say about her for (literally) years posting shouting loudly about how they can't stand Avicii, MDNA was pathetic etc. etc., then you have to wonder why they bother wasting time at a Madonna forum. Perhaps there's a real need for an 80s/90s only forum, where discussion of anything beyond ROL (or possibly Music) is banned! That might shut some people up Thank God for the many positive posters around here, who continue to quell the disquiet that the negative ones try to spread! Suedehead, your post a few pages back was BRILLIANT! Huge kudos to you! JazzyJan always has something positive and insightful to add, too, and there are plenty of others. Thank you! Kurt420
Good riddance on her blocking some on IG. Social media has given people a sense of entitlement and makes it easy for people to lose context of what's "appropriate". Her post about Avicii didnt ask for fan suggestions on who else she should work with or if we think working with him is a good idea. She was giving us the "scoop" straight from her AND she seems quite excited. Personally, I would feel bad having overtly critical things to say about her on a FAN FORUM much less counteracting her apparent excitement to HER FACE by voicing my dissent. That's just fucking RUDE! I mean REALLY, why should Madonna give a shit what I or any fan think about her decision? She's certainly isn't holding a gun to anybody's head forcing us to buy her album. Phineaspoe
I put off listening to the guy's album precisely because everyone wrote him off as another "DJ." Then Wake Me Up came on the radio and though the instrumental hook was a bit 90s Game Boy, I was touched by it and sought it out. Was very surprised it was Avicci. Now that Madge is working with him, I went back to his album and bough Addicted to You. It's essentially an awesome Adele song, if Adele did dance tracks. I'm really excited to see what comes out of this.
Nightshade
nothatkind Tell More • 18 hours agohey guys, Madonna has just blocked me on her instagram profile.I only expressed my disapproval on avicii collaboration, but i did it in a polite way without insulting her (i'm her fan i would never do that) but she evidentely can't accpet critiques even if they come from devoted fans She never asked them for an opinion. She doesn't need career advice from people like us. Sorry, it's a FACT. If you want to show your displeasure, then don't buy the shit when it comes out. I can't believe some people are even shocked. If you don't trust this woman's instincts by now, why the fuck are you following her? It's so stupid. You are showing disapproval of something you haven't even heard yet. I'd block them too. Can you imagine coming from Michigan to NYC in 1978, clawing your way to the top of the male-dominated industry? Finally breaking through, selling millions of albums, poured your blood-sweat-and-tears into multiple sold out tours around the world - let alone raising 4 kids - and then someone comes on your Instagram and whines about who you are writing with? Fuck the hell off. I hope she blocks more people. Whiny-ass bitches. If you don't like the ride, get off.
