aeroco Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I partially agree although the reaction to Robbie's performance seems to be unanimously negative so it could just be his diehards buying the track. I slagged his performance of on youtube and my email account has been innundated with angry responses from his fans - I'm talking hundreds within an hour! I liked Cheryl last year but she really is starting to IRRITATE - I'm more than a little irked that she's going to have a big hit on the back of this, when she's no better than Posh. Oh have a FABULOUS time, I love New York - I must go again soon. Oh thanks, it is fabulous here. Popped into Borders at Columbus and they had plenty of the DVD and CD. DVD was a whopping $29.99 - RIP OFF. Both CD versions were $18.99 which wasn't so bad. Shame i will be missing Crappy Cheryl on Saturday but no doubt some painfully honest reviews will be posted here before I can catch the X Factor re runs on my return. Great to see Madonna holding up in the album charts, despite the slew of new releases. Shame that the market as a whole seems to be falling during October - I am sure sales will pick up across the board around the end of the month (pay day).
HolidayGuy Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 ^Not bad- looks to get decent weekend sales. Album sales in general look to be less than thrilling. and, yes, I imagine that any act 27 years into the game eventually would have to become a "declining brand." After all, there are soooooooo many acts who have been making music for that long that continue having incredible commercial appeal in terms of the singles charts.

Guest patrickovy Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I'm impressed how Celebration album is doing in UK. A great chart run so far. Celebration single is out of Top50 Airplay Chart.
Guest Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Madonna's done really well! 4 weeks in the top 3 is great, a definate long runner!

jonski43 Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Alexandra Burke is so fucking ugly I thought Million Dollar Bill would have went top 10 I've not heard in on the radio at all. Secondly, I thought she was releasing another song. I could have sworn this one was out weeks ago. I presume airplay is Radio 2 only though. I think the album position will be more important at this point in her career. As for AB, like most of the others, I doubt she will last although at least they gave her a pop song and not one of those dreary ballads. A diva by all accounts on the gossip sites.
fak Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 AB will be no way near as successful as Leona. I wonder how she would have done if she had not performed on X Factor? I hope she fizzles away although if she can keep Cheryl Cole off no1, which might be very highly unlikely, I will wish her more success. Whitney is getting good airplay but the song is not something you will take note of. Over the last few days I heard Love Will Save the Day and So Emotional. You took note of them but ODB sounds like a cheap b-side.
HolidayGuy Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 "Celebration" looks to have had an airplay run similar to "American Pie," no? Quick fizzle after reaching the top 3 in airplay. it's really not one of her best tracks or anything- it's fun, but that's about it.
Queen Bitch Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Shame i will be missing Crappy Cheryl on Saturday but no doubt some painfully honest reviews will be posted here before I can catch the X Factor re runs on my return. It's all over the place this morning about how she stole the show The single will be number 1 without question. The only consoling thing about it is that Victoria Beckham will be SEETHING
markm Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 It's all over the place this morning about how she stole the show The single will be number 1 without question. The only consoling thing about it is that Victoria Beckham will be SEETHING By miming the song she destroys her credibility completely and the credibility of the show. What kind of deal did TEAM COLE have to do to get her those headlines?
jonski43 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Actually...i think Whit stole the show Wasn't that for all the wrong reasons thought from what I hear!
loomer Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 By miming the song she destroys her credibility completely and the credibility of the show. WHAT credibility?
fak Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I dont know what American Pie run was but Celebration moved 3-2-4-7-24 and had a good few weeks in and around the top 10 before that. "Celebration" looks to have had an airplay run similar to "American Pie," no? Quick fizzle after reaching the top 3 in airplay. it's really not one of her best tracks or anything- it's fun, but that's about it.
Queen Bitch Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 What kind of deal did TEAM COLE have to do to get her those headlines? God knows but it's continuing today - even the news channels were carrying reports on it. I thought the midweeks would have been out by now?
debord Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Some details are out – Cheryl has apparently sold 135,000 already (which is completely absurd). Alexandra is #1 in albums, the top 5 albums are all new entries and ‘Celebration’ is out of the top ten.

Queen Bitch Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Cheryl has apparently sold 135,000 already (which is completely absurd). But not unexpected - it still stinks that it's going to be one of the decade's biggest sellers on the back of a hit TV show. ‘Celebration’ is out of the top ten. DISMAL - I had a feeling it would slip form the top 5, to around 7 but they really are letting this die a quick death. *FLUSH*
debord Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 The thing to remember from the past month is that Madonna's sales have always picked up at the weekend, so we shall see where it ends up!
Queen Bitch Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 I'm surprised that Robbie's single sales are holding up so well, which means the album will do the business. I'm assuming that album sales will have started to rocket by this time next month. It always struck me as odd that the released Celebration so early but they must have wanted to ensure a number 1, which they wouldn't have done had they gone up against Subo and Alexandra etc. If they start to push it when sales pick up it could well do one million by year end but only if she promotes.
