promise to try
so the decline continues but slows 63 57 Madonna Hard Candy well, I´m sure that they were at least 5 new releases this week, so it´s not that big frop after all. Anyway, will see what happens with the %. And, although is not my favourite song on the album, I think TBGO could work in the US
BullaBarbie
the remix album wasnt that successful and the rest FLOPPED!!!!! The Singles-1992 Head Over Heels-1995 Paula Abdul-Greatest-1999 Greatest Hits-2000 Greatest Hits:Straight Up-2007 I didnt know DLTNT peaked higher than GI2M. GI2M's peak is 57 (so far). I thought Paula's lastest song only peaked around 65. The remix album was a hit. GI2M nosedived and fell off HOT100 after 1 WEEK!!!
Guest moboy
I think it's sales are at about 9,000 this week. Edited July 18, 2008 by moboy
mtzlplk
So it should pass the 600k mark in a week or two? I really hope Devil is the next single, I think that has a lot of potential to be a hit and give the album a much needed boost too. uhm, DEVIL will only reduce HC's chances of recovering... TBGO or CANDY SHOP should be next, it is being received by radio well...

mtzlplk
what can we expect? I hope a Hot 100 entry... let's say all versions sell 20k (GI2M is at 7k this week)... plus 3M measly radio points... it might re-enter at #1... BUBBLING UNDER let's not forget it already peaked at #57...
HolidayGuy
Sales likely aren't going to be as high as 20K. There seem to be more versions of GI2M one can buy compared to past releases, but, still... would be surprising to see it get as high as 20K. No. 57 in all likelihood will remain the Hot 100 peak. Keyshia Cole did 8,770 and ranks No. 66, so, yah, around 9K looks right for this week.

AL's cume after 11 weeks was 528,427- it spent just 3 additional weeks on the chart thereafter. Right, although by the same week/time, AL was already RIP, had NO airplay whatsoever (unlike 4M), etc etc, it still managed to sell another 140k or so for its final tally of around 665k. How on earth did it manage to do that lol, with all of the factors just mentioned?
Dindi
She did tour after AL, plus there was also the VMA performance with the infamous Britney kiss.
HolidayGuy
The week of the 2003 VMAs, AL did around 4,200 and change, if I'm remembering right. RIT didn't do much for the album- when it began, AL had only one week where sales topped 900 units. AL current stands at is 673,000+. As stated, HC is holding up better in the current sales climate than AL did in 2003 (hence, it ranking 62 positions higher than where AL sat in its 11th week). Cherish
She has to release BGO as the 3rd single, make a hot video, tie this in with the tour, and maybe do a little more promo: that's the only way to save HARD CANDY from being almost as big a flop as AMERICAN LIFE. I suspect radio would give BGO more support, only because Kanye does the rap.

Dindi
At least it will pass the 600 K mark next week. Hopefully it will at least match AL's total sales by the end of this year.
HolidayGuy
FYI: American Life was at roughly the same total as HC when its weekly total was down to 1,800 and change. For week ending 11/2/03, AL scanned 1,811 units, bringing its cume to 598,630.

HolidayGuy
It could have dropped more- AL went from 8,600 to 7,302 in week 12, so the loss was not as large as AL saw in the same time frame.
promise to try
well, it;s not that bad: if it continues to sell like this before the tour...anyway, does anybody know if they keep selling the Billboard magazine or is it only online???? and if they still sell it, when is it out?
