I do not know anybody in real life like that. I believe she's just focusing more on the vocals this time around? I agree. It very much is not an age thing. She very recently did a gruellingly physical tour where she moved around the stage for two hours with the relentlessness of an aerobics instructor on speed; if she was able to pull that off three years ago, she is able to pull that off now. Age hasn't slowed Mick Jagger down, and it is not slowing down Madonna who is 15 years his junior. The thing is, when she does heavy choreos she runs out of breath and is incabable of properly belting out a tune. She received a lot of criticism for this on the MDNA Tour; she was criticised for relying on playback and backing tracks, and when she did take a break from the punishing workout and sang completely live, she sounded like fingernails on a chalboard because she was out of breath and had to violently force her voice out of her throat. Now she's chosen to prove wrong all the people who claimed during MDNA Tour she had lost her singing voice. She chooses to focus on belting out tunes, mostly straight-up live, with no help from heavy backing tracks. This is also her answer to the tired but persistent argument that her shows are nothing but extended aerobics lessons. And what do you know: her voice is not only there but it sounds confident, rich and vibrant, and she stays on key more steadily than on any of her previous tours. I love this tour. I'm proud of her for doing a tour like this. People can say all they want about her doing edgy, non hit filled numbers with crazy choreography. But ultimately, people fell in love with her music. And this tour focuses on that. The reaction from the audience is priceless. It's like they're screaming "THANK YOU, MADONNA!" Sure there's a random critique here and there but this forum has never fallen over itself with nonsense and unfair vitriol the way Tribe does. We always view things fairly and never knock her down or hit below the belt the way they do. Some of the stuff they say about her is actually hateful and bizarrely misogynist at times. Everyone here seems to live in reality while still knowing how lucky we are to be a fan of a woman with so much talent. And for that I'm thankful and proud. this is NOT madonnatribe! Never has been. That isn't to say that choreography isn't there, it's just a different ratio. Not every tour can be as physical as MDNA.... RHT is less strenuous as this will bode well for the later dates, as she will want to give a great impression in Australia and Asia.
