Madonna World Tour 2012 Includes Instant Sell Outs in New York City's Yankee Stadium

Isn't this the first time in M's US touring history that she has two back-to-back stadium shows in the same city? Two Yankee Stadium shows is impressive, almost too impressive since they will be tempted to keep doing stadium shows in NYC in the future.

Madonna tickets sell out in record time

By Tony Lofaro, The Ottawa Citizen February 13, 2012

OTTAWA — Madonna’s Sept. 10 show at Scotiabank Place was the fastest selling concert ticket in the history of Scotiabank Place, says concert promoter Live Nation.

Tickets went on sale Monday at 10 a.m. and sold out in 21 minutes, easily surpassing past shows by AC/DC and Bruce Springsteen at Scotiabank Place.

Prime seats were snapped up quickly and by mid-morning only limited-view seats were left for the concert which marks the pop icon’s first visit to Ottawa. Some of the limited view tickets were going for $45 in the 300 section and others were $165.

The top ticket price starts at around $350.

The Madonna tour, which begins May 29 in Tel Aviv, is a hot concert ticket this summer. Most shows are selling out fast, and in some cities, extra shows have been added. It is unlikely a second show will be added in Ottawa, says Live Nation.

The singer is performing a show Aug. 30 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, a Sept. 1 show at the Plains of Abraham site in Quebec City, and two shows at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Sept. 12 and 13.

For more information on Madonna tickets call CapitalTickets at 613-599-3267 or go to capitaltickets.com.

Yeah,I believe so.This is really impressive! It'll be the year's biggest, most successful tour.

Even more impressive is that she's using the entire stadium in NY. For S&S in Detroit, they put the stage near the center of the stadium, that way they could sellout with a smaller crowd.

The Wembley Stadium S&S show had tickets right up until the last minute although the boxscore said sold out 80,000 tickets I think.

Not surprised this it hasnt sold out. There just isn't a buzz about her or MDNA/GMAYL. If she were playing arenas they would probably

sell better but they are not available because of the Olympics

Wembley Stadium London 73,349 / 73,349 (100%) $11,796,540

It still is the highest grossing night ever at Wembley Stadium.

It's called LACK of demand. She has pissed too many people off in the UK.

You really think so? It seems weird that the UK alone would have problems. Madonna doesn't seem to be having difficulty selling out in the U.S. and Canada.

According to MTribers, the Gold Circle and most of the VIP packages are sold out for Hyde Park. No one seems to know how well General Admission seats are selling. Apparently, opening night in Tel Aviv isn't selling very well (per the peeps at MTribe).

Apart from New York and Quebec she is mostly playing arenas. Its much easier to sell those out and add shows especially in major markets that

she has constantly visited. Most people prefer arenas over stadiums.

Yeah, I certainly do. I flew all the way to Chicago to see her last time, rather than drive 2 hours to Vancouver and see her in a stadium. I am so glad she is playing an arena in Seattle...I thought for sure she'd play SeaHawk Stadium (thank god she didn't).

I wish she would play multiple nights at Wembley Arena like she did on the CT.

That was just amazing, 8 sellouts. It felt much more up close and personal than a stadium

or field. I would be happy paying top dollar for an arena show. The lights and sound are much

better in an indoor arena. You feel like you get your money's worth.

Hyde Park, London still has not sold out. I think this is her slowest selling show in the UK so far. Capacity for other gigs there was 65,000. :(

Does anyone know how many tickets have been sold so far? Personally I would not go to a gig where the only option was to stand and I think that will be putting a lot of people off as well. At 5' 5" small, I would not see a thing.

Its impossible in the summer in London. The Olympics has sucked up most venues. She would have been better by-passing London during the summer, doing another couple of UK shows in areas where she has not been (Edinburgh has shown there is demand outside London, and I have never known so many people to be going to a particular concert, everyone I talk to is either going to the show in Edinburgh or knows someone who is going, and almost every hotel on the 21st July is full). She should go back to London after the Olympics is over to the O2.

That's impressive! She did it in Paris back with the SS tour: two consecutive sold out dates at the Stade de France.

Yeah it's all about the Olympics in London this summer - people have not got the cash to splash out on expensive tickets to see Madonna in Hyde Park. If she was playing some smaller venues then they probably would have sold out.

I can't think of anything worse that going to Hyde Park to see a gig.

Who knows - demand might pick up when the album is released however with the lead single struggling to stay in the Top 40 after 1 week I'm not so sure.

Extremely impressed and a little surprised at how things are selling for this tour.

I just looked on Ticketnet website and NICE STADIUM show is now completely sold out - nothing available and it only went on sale a few hours ago.

Hyde Park will be just fine, I know of lots of casual fans and people I wouldn't have thought of that have got tickets and are most excited by it

Personally I would prefer 02 or an arena, which is why I didn't go to S&S at Wembley then was lucky she did the second leg. But I feel a big gig will have a great atmosphere.

Wasn't Madonna supposed to be a part of some concert series to promote the Olympics?

I think that was the press just making up stories. Most of what they print is garbage. It just gives them another angle to print the same old stories.

According to El Tiempo (Most important Newspaper in Colombia) Madonna will be performing in Medellín. November 29thhttps://twitter.com/#!/Bruno_Sushtler/status/169482902701219840/photo/1OMG :wow: I CAN'T WAIT! :wow:

this is awesome, South American leg is shaping up, so far we got:

probably the last date in the US will be Miami around Nov 20/22nd

Nov 24-27 among those dates I'd guess she'll be performing in Mexico City

Nov 29 Medellín, Colombia (first time ever there!)

Dec 1-6 I'd say she will play in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil during these dates

Dec 8-11 Rumors for Peru were huge for what I read here and in the media, I think these would fit well here

Dec 13, 15 & 16 these three dates are actually reserved in a stadium in La Plata, Buenos Aires. I doubt she performs more than three dates here.

Dec 18-20 closing this leg of the tour in Chile perhaps?

this is my guess, yay! can't wait

She lived in England back then. There's no way she's spending that much time in the UK in the future. She'll do a few big concerts then move to other markets.

Apparently the capacity for Hyde Park is 50k.

Posted on M Tribe

This is the email I got sent.

Thank you for your enquiry. The capacity of the venue is 50,000 and the capacity of the Golden Circle will be a maximum of 10,000. I hope this helps you make an informed decision about which ticket to purchase.
