Guest boytoyville
^ They are just talking about the North American portion of the tour. That combined with the European grosses it's over 200 million excluding South America. The perdicted gross by the promotor and published by billboard is 282 million. The highest grossing tour EVER by a solo artist. Read the article dear.

Guest FrozenLight
Excellent grosses! Detroit did well considering the economy and that she also did 2 shows in Toronto which is very close to Detroit. I wouldn't be surprised that if Detroit was put on sale in early June she could have sold another 10K tix for that show. The same applies to dates in Valencia, Budva and especially Sevilla. All of those 3 shows should have been put on sale earlier and each of them of have sold even more tickets. If I recall well Sevilla was only put on sale 6 weeks before the actual show!! (which is a very short time for a stadium show)

Guest jamesshot
Madge should never come back to Budva and Detroit again. Why? Detroit was kinda last minute and she did well for the terrible economy and playing nearby cities. For such a small country, she did well for Budva, Montenegro as well. 47,000. I thought it was super cool she did that city. I want her to continue to hit places she has never played. I loved she did Moscow for CT. I want her to go back. HolidayGuy
Not to compare, but, Janet's capacity in the same Atlanta arena was 5K less than M's; and, Janet's MSG show had a capacity of 3,500 or so less than M's. Janet's NJ show (Izod) had a capacity of 2,600 less than M's; Interesting... (btw- Janet still has a few dates that haven't been reported) Great stats for M, of course. Glad it was sold out!!!! I know. The sections that were blocked off were tiny. And they had us so packed on the floor I figured it more than made up for the blocked off seats. The Astros usually sell out at almost 43,000 so I was expected M's numbers to be a tad higher. Now, with Houston selling out way in advance, she could have easily topped 41,000 in Houston has she played Reliant Stadium. I suspect her people know this now. Sigh, we will never know how many she could have sold in Houston but nonetheless it was a superb showing by us in both attendance and enthusiasm. She seemed very pleased by the crowd. Wasn't Houston the one stadium date for the US never in doubt of being sold out?
Guest jamesshot
Almost 42,000 is a HUGE number. Considering Houston is generally a terrible city for touring. I don't know why but even big name acts usually don't even play Toyota Center because they can't sell it out( and I have rarely if ever heard of mulitple dates there). Dindi
Something's funny about the stats. I seem to recall an earlier post that had Vancouver at less than 50,000 in attendance but still sold out. These latest figures seem closer to the actual number. I wonder why the discrepancy between the two.

chayman
Live Nation is making their money back fast. 10% of gross ticket sales and 50% of merchandise - $30-40M in one tour - three more of these and they will break even. The albums, singles, commercials, ring tones...is gravy
