At least GI2M will get another week on the Hot 1000 though No. 57 will be itspeak. It had ranked No. 57 when it debuted with 38,000 in sales. This week, it has 23,200 and change (all configurations) and little airplay- so maybe a re-entry in the 80s?

Its nice to see that there is some justice in the world, even tho mariah will get a hot 100 place with her song, at least shes being outsold by something almost as old as her sound

In all fairness Mariah would have done better had she released remixes like Madonna did for Give it 2 me.

Regardless, it's obvious the demand for her song is close to zero.

Billboard.com:

Nas Dethrones Lil Wayne Atop Billboard 200

July 23, 2008

by Katie Hasty, N.Y.

One rapper replaces another atop The Billboard 200 this week, as Nas' untitled Def Jam album dethrones Lil Wayne's Cash Money/Universal set "Tha Carter III." Nas' album sold 187,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, becoming the rapper's fifth No. 1 here.

Nas' prior album, 2006's "Hip-Hop Is Dead," also debuted at No. 1 but sold 354,000 over Christmas week. Meanwhile, after three non-consecutive weeks at No. 1, "Tha Carter III" slips to No. 2 with a 15% sales decrease to 105,000.

The Decca soundtrack to "Mamma Mia!," the film adaptation of the hit theatrical musical based on ABBA's songbook, experiences an 89% sales boost after the movie hit theaters Friday (and earned the highest grossing weekend opening ever for a musical); it climbs 7-3 with 91,000. Coldplay's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" (Capitol) slips 2-4 with 90,000 (-20%), while the Jonas Brothers-led soundtrack to Disney's "Camp Rock" descends 3-5 with 78,000 (-12%).

Though it slips 5-6 on the chart, Kid Rock's "Rock N Roll Jesus" (Atlantic) continues to resurge with the help of the Hot AC/Adult Top 40 single "All Summer Long," selling 73,000 with a 20% sales increase.

John Mellencamp's Hear Music debut "Life Death Love and Freedom" bows at No. 7 with 56,000, his fourth top 10 album. It's his 19th charting record overall, stretching back to the Aug. 18, 1979, debut of "John Cougar."

David Banner debuts right behind at No. 8 with his third straight top 10 studio album, "The Greatest Story Ever Told" (SRC/Universal), shifting 52,000. His previous set, 2005's "Certified," peaked at No. 6.

"Beautiful Eyes," a new Wal-mart exclusive EP/DVD from country star Taylor Swift, begins with 45,000 at No. 9. Meanwhile, her Big Machine self-titled debut climbs 14-12 with 35,000 (+20%) in its 59th week on the chart. Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad" (SRP/Def Jam) rounds out the top tier, slipping 8-10 with 41,000 (-12%).

O.A.R.'s "All Sides" (Atlantic) earns the group its biggest charting and sales week ever, debuting at No. 13 with 33,000. Country veteran Randy Travis also snares his highest charting album ever on The Billboard 200 as "Around the Bend" (Warner Bros.) debuts at No. 14 with 31,000.

Other debuts this week include Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard's soundtrack to new Batman movie "The Dark Knight" (Warner Bros.) at No. 20 with 25,000 and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band's live EP "Magic Tour Highlights" (Columbia) at No. 48 with 12,000.

At 7.48 million units, sales this week are up 2.1% from last week's sum and down 7.85% from the same week last year.

Mimi's dance mixes don't sell as well as Madge's, though.

And, Mimi does have a version on iTunes that features T.I., (the video version), in addition to the album version.

Releasing the GI2M maxi so far off from the digital mixes is a bonehead move- it will sell all of 2,000 units, if it even sells that much.

HITS:

It’s a battle of the pop and country divas for #1 on next week’s HITS’ Album Sales chart.

Disney’s Miley Cyrus, stepping out from her Hannah Montana persona for her new Hollywood Records solo album, Breakout, and Mercury Nashville country duo Sugarland, with the deluxe fan edition of their new album, Love on the Inside, are each on track to sell between 380-400k albums, based on one-day sales reports from those retailers still taking our phone calls.

The last Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana album, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley, did 326k in first-week sales when it was released last July, while Sugarland's 2006 album, Enjoy the Ride, opened with 211k in Nov. 2006.

The only other Top 50 newcomer would appear to be Nine Inch Nails, with the physical release of The Slip on Trent Reznor’s The Null Corporation label, after previously making the album available via free download on May 5. Initial estimates have the album selling 35k, not bad for something that was available for nothing just two months ago.

Seattle rockers Candlebox’s first studio album in a decade, Into the Sun, on indie Silent Majority Recordings, should do between 16-18lk, which should land it in the Top 30.

wow, I don't care for Sugerland, but it'd be fun if Horseface Cyrus has to settle for #2.

Anyways, isn't 375-400k disappointing (well, it's not a flop in any sense) considering Miley is the media obsession of the moment and she's apparently in her prime, and she had an opening like that last year before the media started to obsess over her? You'd think she'd be able to have a Coldplay or Lil Wayne opening with the way you can't go one day without hearing Miley this or Miley that in the news.

Guest nothingfails0603

true, but her last album did 326k before the media latched onto her and made her the next Britney. Far far more people on the street who are not part of Miley's key demographic know who she is now, and her numbers are only slightly bigger? I sense a Hannah backlash coming on considering she can't open like Coldplay or Lil Wayne or even Mariah, and she's apparently the hottest thing in music right now.

At this point if her and Warner were interested they could get some moderate success with BGO, Dance 2Night or Devil and keep the album on that charts until the end of the year. But I don't think they care so that's probably the end of Hard Candy.

Tough luck for GI2M, but BRAVO to M.I.A. for scoring her first Hot 100 hit!!!

I also had hoped Lady Gaga would hit the chart, but she still might given that So You Think You Can Dance is using the song in promos...

uhm... is GI2M not allowed to chart even in the BUBBLING UNDER chart now? Is it because it was a previous HOT100 entry?

Bubbling Under is for songs that haven't yet made the Hot 100, so of course it can't chart there.

 I can't believe the peak for "Give It 2 Me" on the Hot 100 will be the week that Hard Candy debuted - that's got to be a first for Madonna. Your second single peaks before it is even released.

HITS:

YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10 CHART PREVIEW: In what started out as a neck-and-neck race, Miley Cyrus has pullED ahead of Sugarland after two days of sales. She gets the edge going into the weekend due to the tv premiere of Best of Both Worlds” this Saturday 3-D glasses are available exclusively at Wal-Mart, which will strengthen her overall first-week number. Mamma Mia exploded over the weekend and shows little sign of slowing down this week. Another strong weekend at the box office and the soundtrack could go ever higher than presently projected. Nas looks like he’ll see the usual two-thirds decay in the second week, while Taylor Swift will slip only a few percentage points, staying put at #9 for the second week.

Here’s how things look right now:

1. Miley Cyrus (Hollywood) 360-380k

2. Sugarland (Mercury Nashville) 340-360k

3. Mamma Mia (Decca) 130-140k

4. Kid Rock (Atlantic) 85-90k

5. Coldplay (Capitol) 75-80k

6. Lil Wayne (Cash Money/Universal Motown) 75-80k

7. Nas (Def Jam/Columbia) 60-65k

8. Camp Rock (Walt Disney) 60-65k

9. Taylor Swift, Beautiful Eyes (Big Machine) 40-45k (Wal-Mart exclusive)

10. Now 28 (Capitol) 35-40k
