MADONNA U.S. Airplay Reports (Per Mediabase)

The Oldies station here in Houston( 107.5) is now playing the 80's. Ugh. Anyway, I wonder if Madonna will start seeing a spike due to the 80's being added to more "Oldies" stations? I have not heard her on our Oldies station, yet.

The only channel that plays Madonna in Houston is KODA Sunny 99.1 It's no1 on the ratings though! So, it's great they support her!

KHMX Mix 96.5, Houston's Hot Adult Contemporary channel should play Music and Don't Tell Me. Hot Ac Anthems! But they do not.

At this point last week, TUTBMP had 1 spin; now, it has 89.

It's nice to see PDP getting higher airplay these days; it used to average 60-70 spins a week; when I do the Monday updates, for the last several weeks, it's been in the 115-140 range. It's a classic, but topically, not really a track you'd think would get a lot of recurrent play.

MG comes off quite "novelty" to me as well, so I am surprised it gets airplay. I don't listen to radio much anymore, but any stations that do play Madonna in my neck of the woods, it's usually the old songs like "Borderline", "Holiday", "La Isla Bonita" and "Like A Prayer".

And to tell you the truth, and as much as I love "La Isla Bonita", I remember back in the day that song wouldn't probably be a stand out classic from her. Boy, was I wrong about that and I'm sure it helps that Madonna always performing it.

I love 80's but I hate the idea of oldies stations playing 80's. IMO, MTV is the cutoff to where something is an "oldie" or not, I think the same way with classic rock, I cannot believe they're playing Nirvana and Pearl Jam on Classic Rock stations now. It's not that old!!!

I feel the same with oldies. When I think oldies, I think Four Seasons and Beach Boys (and no, Kokomo isn't included), songs from 40+ years ago, not songs that had videos that got played on MTV.

I think La Isla Bonita is one of her best singles off her first 3 albums. Live To Tell is also timeless. Like A Virgin and Material Girl are cheesy and dated now so it doesn't shock me their play is a little weak.

I have to disagree. I think LAV is very dated. And being her second biggest hit in her career behind TAKE A BOW, you'd think radio would play it more.

But I must agree LIB has held up great over the years. Again, I didn't think it would have. Though, I've always loved the song and video. Nothing beats the original. I did like her acoustic version on the DW tour though. That was pretty awesome.

Well, LAV spent the second-most weeks at No. 1 after TAB. But, just because TAB spent the most weeks at No. 1 doesn't make it her biggest hit, necessariluy- clearly, it didn't sell anywhere near the most copies of her hits, and it didn't achieve her highest airplay levels in a single week, either. But, the charts are all relative.
