iasonas
American Life did very well! 23million! I thought it was lower! Did huge channels like KIIS and z100 played it enough the first day it was out? Please, tell us your radio experiences the first days american life was out! After the first week they removed it from rotation?
HolidayGuy
I don't know if 23m peak is "very well"- that's 60m less than "Music." Of course, AL was not as radio-friendly as "Music." AL spent just 3 weeks on Hot 100 Airplay. Like any track that doesn't last long on the charts, stations played AL, and then found that it didn't connect with the audience, and then dropped it. Guest Danny86
It will be interesting to see if Warner weighs in the recurrent airplay in the choice of GH tracks. For example "Dress You Up", which is in the top twenty, far above "definite" hits like "Frozen" or even "Express Yourself"...

Gambler
Beautiful Stranger: 60 million (No. 11) What a shame! It would have been a top 5 hit for sure! As for Open Your Heart, I cannot believe that song is ahead of all the others singles of ''True Blue'' with more than 130 000 spins! Here in Montreal, Madonna is very huge! The only singles I haven't heard on the radio are Everybody, Gambler, The Look Of Love, Spotlight, Oh Father, Dear Jessie, Bedtime Stories and Love Don't Live Here Anymore! I know, most of them are from Europe or Japan. After 10 days, Hung Up had the most spins in Canada when it was released! It stays 12 weeks at top and her second biggest hit of Madonna in Canada is Secret. Surprisigly! 9 weeks at the top. Anyway, thank you very much HolidayGuy! What you have done is great! HolidayGuy
Thanks- with Mediabase now as it is (needing to log in), that's probably theend of the updates. Supposedly if the links for tracks had been saved, they still would have worked, but, of course, I didn't save all of those. hehe If BStranger had been released as a CD single, no doubt it would have reached the top 5 on the Hot 100- possibly even a No. 1 contender. There were plans for it- on the Dance chart, it had a catalog number and everything; if there were no plans for a release, it would have been listed as "Promo," as "American Pie" was. The Austin Powers soundtrack was selling respectably, so it probably din't want to cut into that.

HolidayGuy
Why thank you, sir. That's a great start. My system can get awfully slow, and I recently deleted browsing history and such, so would have had no way to get them. How about the following? Burning Up Angel Dress You Up True Blue Who's That Girl Causing a Commotion Deeper and Deeper Rain I'll Remember You Must Love Me Don't Cry For Me Argentina The Power of Good-Bye What it Feels Like For a Girl 4 Minutes Miles Away Of all those, DYU, TB and IR are the only older titles to register any significant play. And, of course, 4M among recent.

HolidayGuy
Thank ya- perhaps Where's the Party, as well, since it occasionally registers a few spins. Tracks like Physical Attraction, Spotlight, Oh Father, Bad Girl, Bedtime Story, Human Nature and Nothing Really Matters hardly ever register even a single play, so I guess we could do without those (unless you wanted to post those as well). Madonna Megamix had been, but as of late, not much.

HolidayGuy
lemi- "Fever" wasn't released to U.S. radio, just dance clubs (though I recall one local station spinning it a couple of times). "Love Profusion" never had an official radio date, though, as we know, it was commercially released. However, even if WB did promote LP at radio, it likely wouldn't have mattered much. Thanks again, CDE.
