HolidayGuy Posted July 17, 2007 Author Posted July 17, 2007 7/9/07-7/15/07 The syndicated Delilah program looks to have struck again for several titles this week. Guest Eternal Flame Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I heard both Into the Groove and Like a Prayer on the radio this weekend
Guest likeadream Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Sure... (a few titles have lower totals then when last checked- i.e. MATM- or, just a tad higher- i.e. TPOG; I know that at times the totals are adjusted for whatever reason- COADF releases definitely have benefited from the XM stations, plus the other few dance stations. I left out YS and YMLM with that last post; I probably was debating putting them separate, as they definitely long peaked when Mediabase started tracking, but still were newer than tracks preceding them) (through 2/19/07) 1982-1998 Tracks 1. HolidayGuy Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 Yep (not sure exactly when, tho)- and those were from February, so they'd be higher now.
Guest likeadream Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Yep (not sure exactly when, tho)- and those were from February, so they'd be higher now. Thanks a lot, HG ! Are these figures good generally speaking ? Similar figures have been posted on ukmix for MJ and they are quite impressive compared with Madonna's ones...
HolidayGuy Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 I haven't checked MJ's in a while, but from what I recall, they were on par, I think somewhat lower than M's, overall.
Guest likeadream Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I haven't checked MJ's in a while, but from what I recall, they were on par, I think somewhat lower than M's, overall. Look at the message posted yesterday about MJ's airplay : http://ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17...c&start=650 Maybe I've misinterpreted the figures after all... When it comes to US airplay stuff there are a lot of things I don't catch usually !
HolidayGuy Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 I did a quick check forthe latest 7-day period. The non-Jackson 5 tracks spun 100x or more in the last week: Rock With You: 335 Don't Stop till You Get Enough: 252 PYT: 208 Human Nature: 189 Billie Jean: 186 Wanna Be Startin' Somethin: 140 The Way You Make Me Feel: 114
Guest likeadream Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 (edited) I did a quick check forthe latest 7-day period. The non-Jackson 5 tracks spun 100x or more in the last week: Rock With You: 335 Don't Stop till You Get Enough: 252 PYT: 208 Human Nature: 189 Billie Jean: 186 Wanna Be Startin' Somethin: 140 The Way You Make Me Feel: 114 So the figures in bold account for the number of spins for each song, correct ? I don't understand why there are almost the same figures in the following post, but multiplied by 10 : http://ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17...c&start=650 Edited July 18, 2007 by likeadream
HolidayGuy Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 Those are the spins in the last 7 days; I think those other figures are the ones to date (though ain't no way some of those tracks were played 1m times in the last 10 years per Mediabase lol) Some numbers are audience totals, I think, too.

Guest moboy Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 My local AC station did Christmas in July, so I'm sure Santa Baby got a spin!
HolidayGuy Posted July 24, 2007 Author Posted July 24, 2007 I went through and wrote down all this week's info- but- D'H- I lost the sheet. SO, I'm not goin' through allthat again. haha But, some highlights from the Mon-Sun. 7-day period: * Cherish dropped back to a more normal spins count, from 171 spins to 69 this week. * Dress You Up leaped from 82 spins last week to 168 spins this week, thanks to a jump from 26 spins to 109 spins at AC. * I'll Remember jumped from 53 spins last week to 194, thanks to a jump from 41 spins to 179 spins at AC- I'm guessing that Delilah played the track, maybe even on two nights. * Justify My Love jumped from 4 to 43 spins- it went from 0 to 22 at Pop, and 1 to 14 at Hot AC- I'm guessing some sort of syndicated-program play. * Take a Bow dropped back, from 257 spins last week to 93 this week (last week, it likely had some syndicated-progam play). * This Used to Be My Playground dropped back, from 94 spins last week to 5 this week. * Who's That Girl gained 5 spins to 15 total (its highest in weeks, I think). And, Santa Baby" had 2 spins, both at AC. A side note: I'm thinking that a reason a track's overall spins-to-date count keeps increasing notably has to do with spins at formats not listed on a track's main page (i.e. rhythmic AC, 80s station, variety rock or whatever they're called, etc. etc.)
Guest moboy Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 I heard the following today: Holiday Vogue Material Girl
Guest Qbanito21 Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 i heard Rain again today.... I always hear Rain on the stations
HolidayGuy Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 7/23/07-7/29/07 "Cherish" probably was back on the Deliah program last week, as it returns to a higher airplay level. "Crazy For You" also may have been featured on the program. "Frozen" probably got some sort of syndicated-program play, too, as it posts a decent gain. Recent Releases: Jump: 49 (-2)- .064m 1. SOON Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Good to see Borderline constantly rank in the top 5! @ a fan on another forum who say it isn't a classic and shouldn't be performed live on the next tour
Skin Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Borderline not a classic!? That person must be nuts. I always hear it. I just dont get why HU does not get more spins from stations that did support it. Here 94.3, 94.5 and KTU played the hell out of it, but none of them spin it anymore.
HolidayGuy Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 Borderline is without a doubt a classic- not just because of its recurrent play, but also because it's ACCLAIMED to a decent degree. KTU now is rhythmic AC, so I don't think it plays as much dance as it used to (outside of specialty hours or somethin').

doctorjosh Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 It's sad that not a single track from the AL album made the list this week and only 1 track managed to get 1 spin in the whole of the USA!!!
HolidayGuy Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 Well, neither AL or Hollywood are patrticularly good tracks (compared to most of her stuff)- NF and LP didn't register much of any play at all when they were released (official radio release or not). It's one of her low points, commercially, so, I don't think it's "sad," really.
HolidayGuy Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 8/6/07-8/12/07 I've lumped "Jump" in with all the other tracks. "Cherish" sees yet another likley bump from the Delilah show. "I'll Remember" also likely got played on the show. 1. Into the Groove: 638 (+82)- 4.813m 2. Holiday: 501 (-5)- 4.486m 3. Borderline: 487 (+4)- 4.151m 4. Like a Prayer: 466 (+3)- 3.646m 5. Skin Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Its weird...I think I have heard Everybody on the radio at least 4 times in the last week.
HolidayGuy Posted August 16, 2007 Author Posted August 16, 2007 In the car yesterday, heard "La Isla Bonita" on WKTU (after which, the age debate came on)- and then I heard "Music" on B-104 (Allentown, PA)- the DJ was like, "Hopefully we'll have some new music from MADONNA soon, with Timbaland and Timberlake...")
Skin Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 ^What were they saying about her age? And at least it sounds like one station will be open to playing her new stuff.
HolidayGuy Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 The dage debate just was about whether she was 49 or 50 - the DJ said 50, but then lotsof peopel claled in to say tthat wasn't until next year, and the DJ (and his fellow on air person) mentioned the Central Park rumors and how tha would make sense for her 50th b-day. WAEB is a mainstream top 40 station, which always has been supportive of Madonna. I think a number of stations will play her new single, at least out of the gate (even "Hung Up" reached top 20 at pop)- and if it gets a good reaction, it could do OK at radio.
