It is not exagerated to say it is her best video in ages. Perfect photography, stylish, sexy, fun and somehow deep. I am still awed. Yesterday my boyfriend and I (he loved the video as well) watched the premiere very fancy: we projected the screen on the wall and had a mini movie theater in our living room. It was the perfect way to watch this astonishing video for the first time!

I still don't understand the strategy. Did Madonna's team decide to wait for the video launch and then send the song to radio? Do radio stations just not want to play her? It is strange because this is a very radio friendly song and there is no reason not to play it. In anycase I really hope the situation changes and the song gets airplay after the video release.

Medellin is an excellent song. It’s warm, carefree, dreamy, everything you want in a
summer song! And it’s what people have been clamoring from Madonna for years now.
It sounds like a summer jam and very radio friendly actually… it does have a catchy twang.
Certainly a grower! It is indeed her best lead single since "Hung Up"
I’m obsessed with the relaxed groove.
I absolutely adore it! Love her voice, the sultry vibe, the lyrics, the beat and Maluma too.
I’m completely obsessed with the song. It’s a brilliant lead single, and just leaves me more excited for this album. Medellin is 2019’s La Isla Bonita.

The first thing that stood out for me were her smooth vocals. I had very low expectations for a Maluma collab, but I like the song very much. It's rather enchanting, very sweet, and actually the most emotionally compelling first single Madonna released in many years!!! Very delicate production is also a standout for me. It's a very welcoming tone. Bravo Madonna!

For the times, it's a good song. Catchy, fun, warm, great post-chorus/bridge, and it doesn't sound as "mainstream" as some of the other songs circulating the pop/Latin pop market.

I hated it at first. Listened over and over and I'm obsessed. It's current but very mature. The production is amazing. When she's bad she's good but when she's good she's incomparable.

After a short pause the song start growing on me (would be easier with some less Maluma). But it is catchy, funny and unpretensious. Perfect to dance. I think it was a very goog move choosing this song to launch the era

Amen! This is exactly the reason this cover spoke so much to me. In addition this cover has this special art painting quality, something underneath the image itself.

I think too her mother and Frida Kahlo inspired that one . She has said many a time how she sees what she does similar to Frida and Cindy Sherman . Same woman , different fibres of her being , different frames and it's true , since the very beginning .
Also , her mother's funeral and the stitches on her lips has been an image that haunts her still (oh father ,interviews ) , imagine what an imprint that leaves to a little girl and how cathartic to put her image through it , her trauma repurposed , for the whole world to see! . And it's perfect , stiched lips /silence = death
I couldn't agree more and I am glad we have more then one cover. But the (standard?) version has something special that reveals itself the more we look at it. It is really like an art painting. When I saw it today morning I almost died because it is the most beautiful cover I have ever seen

I liked the song instantaneously. It is simple but full of small details. And I really like that is so strong and somehow dramatic. I just looked for the song you wrote about but I am not sure if is the same strings sampler, as the strings in I Rise play an ascending scale in the end of the long notes...
