Just :wow:

Thanks for sharing, Mat.

Only now I realize the ammount of effort put into this almost 13-minute performance. So many things that had to be amazing on their own but then had to work perfectly together. I just can't.

HARDWORKINGDONNA

I know right?

And seeing them picking Madonna pictures for the vogue projection is amazing! Did you see that they considered even Erotica era pictures????

And filming her dancer doing the vogue magazine cover! :dramatic:

And off course that maquette with Madonna model is so lush. I would like to have that in my living room. :drama:

I think the overall commercial disappointment of MDNA has clouded the memory of this performance, but it was truly awesome TV and it holds up well. I still can't believe she pulled it off so flawlessly...what an artist!

The Super Bowl week was absolutely INSANE. It was MADONNA OVERLOAD on iTunes for 7 days, MDNA, Give Me All Your Luvin', her old albums and songs in the charts... AND it wasn't because she died. :lmao:

We won't see a 53-year-old doing that ever again.

I know, that whole weekend was magical. I still watch her Superbowl and it may be the best entrance of her career (still keeping Confessions Tour in the running). Watching that entrance live I was truly moved.. couldn't WAIT to get home and watch it over and over. She declared herself Queen at the Superbowl!! What balls, I just loved it.

I even watch her Superbowl press conference. That was so much fun. I was in Indianapolis at the time too but hate crowds and wouldn't go down there (Not like I would've seen her anyway). I remember gasping when watching the show when she almost tripped on the bleachers. SO GLAD that show went off w/o a hitch. People would've hanged her. In fact, they were looking forward to it. well haha she nailed it :superman:

Hope she wins that Emmy.

i'm sure she won't top her ratings/views and all of that. i think there's less interest in beyonce by the main public, aside from the younger crowd. but i owuld not be surprised at all if she'd get a lot of praise. don't like the idea of beyonce performing after M anyway, they'll compare the two and prefer beyonce because she's 1)younger 2)conventionally more beautiful 3) will probably sing live, or pretend to do so.

they should have gone with a rockband or something totally different than a female popular singer, imo. now it'll turn into a contest about who the better performer is.

still very early..but every news outlet is already comparing the two.

You know Beys setlist will be so predictable. I like her a lot but you just know she will do crazy in love, single ladies, a medley and end with Halo.

AND her new single. It seems she is in studio for ages to record her new album.

do you remember when a certain US TV news show was doing a Superbowl-related article and Lady Gaga's camp is asking for money just to schedule an interview or something?

Yeah, like 10,000 dollar$ :lmao: Sounds like she don't care @ ALL about money.

Can Beyonce Top Madonna's Super Bowl Record?

by Andrew Hampp, N.Y. | October 19, 201

Now that Beyoncé has been officially announced as the performer at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 3, can she top Madonna's record for most-watched U.S. telecast of all time? The Material Girl's performance during this year's Super Bowl reached more than 116 million viewers, according to Nielsen, and was watched by more viewers than the game itself. But advertising and branding executives think Beyoncé has appeal wider enough-not to mention a buzzy post-Blue Ivy narrative-to draw an even bigger crowd.

"She's one of the biggest stars in the world, music or otherwise. She's an incredible performer and is great with brands," Live Nation Network president Russell Wallach says. "The Super Bowl is an incredible marketing platform for any artist, and this puts her in front of the biggest worldwide television audience."

Although ad time bookending the halftime show during the second and third quarters is already sold out, according to executives who spoke with Billboard, there's still potential for advertisers associated with Beyoncé to synch their spots based on their ad buys. Salesforce.com, for example, was able to secure a spot featuring Will.i.am just before the Black Eyed Peas' performance in 2010, while M&M's bought ad time right before Madonna's halftime show featuring LMFAO, whose "Sexy and I Know It" was in the candy ad. With Pepsi sponsoring the halftime show this year, it's possible the brand will tap Beyoncé, a previous pitchwoman, to make an encore appearance in an ad. Thirty-second spots for the 2013 telecast, which will air on CBS, are expected to match and potentially exceed the rates of $3.7 million to $3.8 million advertisers paid last year.

"For people who have bought media time in the second and third quarter, that's a good thing," says Colin Jeffery, executive creative director for Los Angeles ad agency David&Goliath, whose client Kia bought a lot of time last year for its campaign featuring Motley Crue. "The Super Bowl still skews slightly male, so she'll bring the wider female audience. She also skews young and old, so you'll probably see some record numbers."

Further, the anticipation for Beyoncé returning to the stage as a performer is particularly high. Though she performed a short series of concerts at Atlantic City, N.J., casino Revel earlier this year and appeared during husband Jay-Z's recent gig at Brooklyn's new Barclays Center, she's largely been out of the spotlight since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy in January. "Fans have missed her music and eagerly anticipate her return to the stage," says Jennifer Hageney, managing director of media agency MEC Access. "Media conversations have exploded, with more excitement than we've seen in recent years. Collaborations with big names like Jay-Z, [Lady] Gaga or a Destiny's Child reunion are rumored and adding fuel to the Super Bowl fire."

Beyoncé could potentially leverage the Super Bowl to debut new music, as Madonna did last year with single "Give Me All Your Lovin'," featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., which later debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. The strategy can also backfire, however, as it did for Janet Jackson, whose 2004 album Damita Jo suffered following the uproar surrounding her "wardrobe malfunction" with Justin Timberlake months prior.

But there's also high precedent for halftime performers to experience a major spike in catalog sales. For example, Madonna's catalog songs surged by 214% in the week after the Super Bowl, when hits compilation Celebration re-entered the Billboard 200 at No. 24 with 16,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. In 2010, the Who sold 14,000 copies of its Greatest Hits during the week following its performance (an 84% increase from the week prior). If Beyoncé turns in a stellar performance, she'll most likely see a similar bounce.

^^^ it's going to be interesting. Beyonce is a quite good performer. But I would like to question her appeal to the general public. I think there are a lot of misinterpretations when it comes to appeal. Fact is that she is quite visible because she has her hands in all kinds of pies. Music, fashion, films, perfume. Of course this always comes with the danger of overexposure. In addition to that: is her music really able to draw so many people in? Out of interest I watched a concert of her and must say (as a member of the general public) it was nice. But it wasn't more. Girl can sing. Girl can deliver a choreography. But the problem is that she doesn't have those iconic songs that the Superball audience would recognize. Furthermore her concert was a rather traditional pop concert. It did not feel like a big spectacle which I understand if they want to concentrate on her singing skills. But I fear that you need to have that to keep people interested. And compared to Madonna she is just not an interesting person. Yes, she got a baby. But why were people interested? Because of those rumors that she wasn't even pregnant and that they had a surrogate mother. So I question if she really is a good choice to follow this years extravaganza. And remember when some people criticized the NFLs decision to hire Madonna because she is too pop, too old and America is just not interested in her anymore? Well, it turned out to be most watched moment in TV history. So what do these experts know anyway?

What is worth noting is that ratings went even higher when she was actually performing... has that happened before when the halftime show rated even higher than the actual game? Instead of switching to other channels, it added more viewers when she performed. However, is it really fair to compare 2013 to 2012 when it comes to ratings? Really don't know how it works there in the US...

If Beyonce wouldn't beat the ratings MADONNA pulled from last year, i wonder if media will make a big deal out of it because we can bet our lives they will if Beyonce beats last year's ratings....
