Guest madoxx Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 according to Madonnatribe.com htr CD/DVD has already been certified Platinum in Italy due to huge requests from retailers
HolidayGuy Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 With sales as low as they are, a top 20 placement at the least looks like a possibility (as long as it sells in the range of IGTTYAS).

Guest FuckBuddy Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 top30 is a possibility. it'd be a great surprise if it made the top20.

motherandfather03 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 up to number 6 at amazon. not really too sure what that means though for newt week.
mtzlplk Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 CT CD/DVD is sooo going to outsell IGTTYAS... it only makes sense because there are more MADONNA fans who want to see the cross thingy again and the whole concert in full clarity and sound, rather than buy a 2-hour Kabbalah-filled preaching extravanganza docu...
Guest tir69 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 amazon usa : nr 6 amazon uk : nr 17 amazon de : nr 4

I completely agree. CT cannot even be compared to IGTTYAS other than the format (live CD + DVD). CT is a full live show (not a documentary) released at a proper time - still relatively fresh after the tour (less than a year) and fresh after the national broadcast; and already seen by millions around the world thanks to the broadcast. While I realize that the original NBC broadcast was not a rating bonanza, it still gave the whole event a huge exposure and an endless rerun cycle on other channels. I reckon that CT’s release will eventually have more commercial and media impact than IGTTYAS.
lemi Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 If there is one negative thing I can say about CT it is the track selection on the live CD. What a randomly picked crowd! The best live tracks musically from this show are missing. Why are we getting: “Lucky Star”, “Confessions” or the inferior version of “Let it will be” but “Get Together”, “Forbidden Love”, “Live to tell” and “Drowned World” are nowhere to be found. Also, with 13 tracks on the album, I suspect that more tracks could have been added to fill the CD even with the commitment of keeping this live album to a single CD.

notsomuch Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Norah Jones is going to get people into the stores to buy and Madonna will be placed right next to her as a new release. M will sell well and should place in the top 20...
SexPistol Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 they could not have fit every single song onto one 74-minute CD. that would be impossible.
HolidayGuy Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Isn't TIC 78 minutes? And I know a blank CD holds 80 minutes (some maybe more?) Nonetheless, true, fitting all those on one CD isn't possible.
Guest Beautiful Stranger Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Can't record labels fit 80 min. on one CD? Still not enough for the whole CT show.
Guest Bad Robot Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 The CD is almost definitely close to full. Live songs are longer, there is crowd noise, interludes, etc... the Future Lovers/I Feel Love combo is like 8 minutes alone.
SexPistol Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 The Confessions tour CD being released is 73 minutes long. There is no way they'd be able to fit more than that on it. Maybe one more song, but that's coming close.
Guest demitri Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 No one can really guess but I expect this CD to sell 60,000 to 70,000 copies by year end
promise to try Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I can´t see this "album" in the top 20: ok, the sales are very low, but for evrybody, even for her
rafter69 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 does anybody here recall how high IGTYAS ranked on amazon's top selling list a week before its release? It was definately in the top 10 because i remember being surprised when i saw how high it was right before the release. i dont think it was as high as this one though. this morning its already # 4. I think it could be a top 10 debut on Billboard with as low as some of this week chart #'s are. I think she can sell enough to make top 10.
frozpog Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 some info for iTunes from wea.com iTunes will sell the entire DVD as one video file + entire aduio + 2 bonus trailers

Guest kangarooz Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 On Amazon.com 'Secret' is getting a boost from 'Confessions Tour' Here
HolidayGuy Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 There will be at least one huge sales total next week, in Norah Jones. Then there's the Karaoke Idol runn-up releasing her album. SO, the top 10 could see higher numbers than last week. I'll say a top 20 debut is *possible*.
Guest Beautiful Stranger Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I just saw a commercial for the CD/DVD on Vh1.

I'm not sure what makes you the authority on sales figures. Clearly it isn't your understand on how well Confession did in the US. 1.6 million units is huge considering what others are selling. Nelly F with three big radio hits just crossed the million mark, big name artists are flopping left and right. Sure there are artists selling more than M but there are a lot of big name artists selling a lot less.
Guest Beautiful Stranger Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Would the CT still be eligible for the chart if it had 2 audio discs in the package?
