He's singing. So doing it is like trying to remove Mel B from the Spice Girls songs based on her being "a rapper" because of her looks when most of the times she just sings

Idk maybe a new approach for M is just to do solo songs then release a remix with a feat so she can get more streams that way

Can't understand why some people prefer the version without him. IMHO this is the best collaboration she has ever done, a million times better than the ones with Maluma but... it all comes down to personal preferences, as always.
