There was never shortage of killer songs on any of her albums, but she seems intent to not released them. Tbgo, dwery, love spent, I m addicted, beautiful killer, devil pray, hold tight should have all been singles instead of what we got. I think they need to test the whole album on a public or smth for choosing of the singles... whoever is in charge since 2008, hasn’t done a good job. If it’s Madge she needs to hear outside opinion! Personally I think she fucked up in choosing all her singles from 2008 onwards as I believe there were more strong, loved practically by all, songs on the albums, which never saw the light of day. I think DWRY sounding like Cry Me A River would have been 0 problem as it still sounds absolutely amazing and like a hit (at least much bigger than Give It To Me or Miles Away). Hold Tight could be badly produced (I m not specialist but I m not hearing any big problems with its production), but it still has strong melody, lyrics, hooks and it always sounded to me like a hit. If RH had never leaked I'm almost sure that it would have remained the 2nd single because the only reason GT was released is because of the fan reaction to the 6 tracks in Dec 2014. Yes, uninspired and strange, but I understand that how you perceive music is subjective. I never really connected to AL and still haven't and COADF was huge return to form for me (personally I think it could even be her greatest album ever). I felt like she wanted to sound deep and inspired etc on AL, but personally I don't think the songs were as strong as her previous or later offerings (no great hooks, not amazing melodies) and Mirwais production sounded to me lifeless, joyless and basic - practically all things that Madonna isn't.
