Guest
The technology on MDNA was just beyond!!!! Do you think it's too much? Should I go and be a fan of Adele's staging instead? I admire Kylie Minogue very much for her vision.
Guest Rachelle of London
No I was saying it was beyond....meaning that it was above amazing....I loved it....I actually was dying in my first show...DYING
XXL
MDNA combined the best of all worlds...the theatricality, the soul & the urgency... Just because there is technology involved it doesn't mean Madonna is sitting on her ass RELYING ON IT. Madonna has had some pretty amazing choreos/settings/themes on tour post BAT & GS. It is 2013, not 1983 anymore so it's obvious that the evolution of society and technology gets also reflected in a concert production GS looks more modern compared to footage from VT which was only 8 years earlier. It doesn't mean she was lazy with it because she had more money or the quality of the cameras had gotten better by then. Quality/Inventiveness vs technology is not a meaningful contraposition imo Karbatal when was your last Madonna concert attended in the flesh if I may ask
acko
I haven't properly read this thread, cuz let's face it, my reply is quite simply THE GOSPEL. But y'all had better not make me get my gun if this implies she is now LAZY & therefore uses technology. Have u seen her shows??? Oooh this just came up on my playlist...Good Times! THE END. Guest
He's one of the people who I don't understand being here. I'm sure he's a very nice man but I don't see why he would come to a Madonna forum. Well I know why but...you know. Same as the people who only ever post in the soft core porn threads and know nothing about Madonnas career. It's like 'Madonna made a video for Human nature?! Wow, that's cool!'. One post like that every like year and then back to threads about porn or whatever. Weird.
TearsInHeaven
I think Madonna needs to take technology back at least a few decades and do something like this. Focus on the performance and not rely on props, costumes etcetera in order to tell a story. Kylie performs without unnecessary fuss!

His point is valid and it's his. It's not a chip on my shoulder. It's nothing personal as I said but it is ridiculous! Why be on a Madonna forum if you don't like what she does? Why talk about how great she was 20 years ago? It's MADONNANATION not TIMETRAVELNATION. I am all for people being here who are casual fans and I'm all for freedom of expression but constantly being NEGATIVE is another matter. Honestly, it's nothing personal to Karbatal and I'm sure he's a wonderful person but his chronic negative and ignorant behaviour on here CLEARLY made me lose my patience. I don't consider you as one of those people who have no reason to be here. You're outspoken and if you don't like something you'll say it but I don't see you as constantly negative and a complainer. You also post lots of cool stuff relating to Madonna. I'm assuming you're just supporting your pal and it was probably not very nice to use him as an example but he said he ignores my posts anyway so he doesn't have to read it. karbatal
Elaborate relying so much Thx For example LAV in MDNA is beautiful and stunning, and she just need being there. Hung Up in CT is bombastic (it was backdrops and all that stuff) but it's Madonna delivering the goods, backdrops aren't important. Revolver or EY in MDNA are just the contrary (in my opinion). Guest bluejean
Leave Karby alone. Just because he prefers Kylie doesn't mean he's not a Madonna fan. He likes Madonnas older stuff. So what? MForever
Madonna technology are the curtains of nowadays. She can recreate anything with those big screens and I think she uses them correctly, the projections aren't too simple (like a window screensaver) but also not too distracting. Most of the time they only set the mood for the song. However, there are a few exceptions like Express Yourself in MDNA Tour where the message on the screens is stronger. Some people here also forget that the experience is very different when you are in front row compared to the seats at the back of an arena or stadium. For example, when I went with my friends to see the MDNA tour, some of us were in front row whereas the others were at the back. When it finished, the opinion about Like a Virgin couldn't be more different. We thought that it was one of the most touching moments of the concert, whereas the other group thought that it was one of the most boring because they could hardly see anything. Obviously, when the DVD was released they appreciated it and changed their mind, but that was only when they finally got to see it properly. What I mean is that people don't pay 200 euros to see nothing. Even rock/pop bands whose music is supposed to be the priority use big stages with lots of technology. U2, Coldplay or Muse are great examples. Edited December 10, 2013 by MForever
billiejean
Madonna uses the technology in such creative ways, it only adds to the shows. She has been doing it for years, and it works well. The intricate detailing that goes into these 'interludes' and 'backdrops' are just another way of 'expressing herself'. It doesn't really take away from her performance, it just adds to it. She still puts on an amazing show physically, moving around the stage, the choreography, the singing...
Guest
So in conclusion we have decided that Madonna and her team are creative perfectionists who deliver an unmatched experience which you will remember for a very long time. Am I correct? Yep, I think we can call it a day and close the thread.

Only one physical copy is released (cd players stopped working in 2019). Karbatal buys it. And i prefer Madonna over Kylie, haha. Who said i prefer Kylie???? just for the record.
