Je5u5 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 It's so f*cking brilliant it deserves its own thread
Guest Bitchbag Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 It's so f*cking brilliant it deserves its own thread Agreed. Its an amazing track. I think it's one of her best ever. I think I'm too hyped up haha. I'm already fantasising about a hot July evening at Murrayfield going mental to this! Tune!!!! <3
Je5u5 Posted March 20, 2012 Author Posted March 20, 2012 It IS one of her best, and I love how it's like a little musical journey that takes you to unexpected places.
Love Spent Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 You had all of me You wanted more Would you have married me If I were poor? I guess if I was your treasury You'd have found the time to treasure me How come you can't see All that you need Was right here with me Until the end All this pretend wasn't for free Hold me like your money Tell me that you want me Spend your love on me Spend your love on me Now you have your money Spend it til there's nothing Spend your love on me Spend your love on me If we opened up a joint account Would it put an end to all your doubt? Frankly, if my name was Benjamin We wouldn't be in the mess we're in You played with my heart Til death do we part That's what you said Now you have your fast car, Women and bars, its gone to your head Hold me like your money Tell me that you want me Spend your love on me Spend your love on me Love me like your money Spend it til there's nothing Spend your love on me Spend your love on me Spend your love on me I want you to take me Like you took your money Take me in your arms Until your last breath I want you to hold me Like you hold your money Hold on to me Til there's nothing left Love spent, really love spent Yeah I'm love spent Wondering where the love went Love spent, yeah I'm love spent Really love spent Wondering where it all went I want you to take me like you took your money Take me In your arms until your last breath I want you to hold me like you hold your money Hold me in your arms until there's nothing left Nothing left Nothing left Nothing left Nothing left
Guest Bitchbag Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I think it's safe to say... SHE'S NAILED IT!!! SO HAPPY!!! <3
coco Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I think it's safe to say... SHE'S NAILED IT!!! she totally did i'm listening to it right now as i type this and it really is mindblowingly amazing
Guest rocketman Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Such a standout track. Has a total ABBA feel to it. I am Love Spent!
Guest sasca1971 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Glad to show some love for this one. I agree it's one of the best songs she has EVER recorded and that's saying a lot.
futurelover06 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Can't believe this originally was intended to be a bonus track. It's AMAZING.
Guest ditaluver Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Can't believe this originally was intended to be a bonus track. It's AMAZING. THIS I mean really I am SO fucking glad they booted off B-DAY. This is much more cohesive. Although I do love B-Day for its silliness...Love Spent is DIVINE!!
Guest Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 ton repeat right now!!! such a gem!!! it's so beautiful, great arrangement and with a melody that seems a ballad it's so bitter and harsh. all critics talked about especially on gang bang as reference of a vengeance to guy ritchie (except the italian "la repubblica" critic that saw a reference to lady gaga ...) but this is a lot more bad in his regard imo... all is perfect, even the "benjamin" line that someone was laughing at TOTALLY MESMERIZING SONG!!! AND THAT BANJO....
mdna2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 When I first heard the snippet I didn't think it was that great 5 out of 10 but hearing the complete track i'm in love with it 10 out of 10!
Guest Xanthium Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Best song on the album hands down! I haven't loved a Madonna song like this since I heard Forbidden Love from COADF. I think Love Spent might be entering my Top 10 Madonna songs of all time list. It's THAT good!
Guest Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 yeah, really sad...and she sing it so beautifully!!!
Guest sasca1971 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Gosh I listen to this song and wonder where on earth it came from - musically speaking that is. But then I remember that basically the main reason I love M so much is that each of her albums is so different than the last and usually has so many different sounds on each album. My straight young friends think she's a hag and that she only tries to appeal to the younger crowds, etc and I remind them that if they actually ever listened to any of her albums that they would see that really they each only contain one or two radio friendly songs and the rest are usually too intense musically or experimental. Love this song tons.
mad4mad2 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Gang bang was my fav but Now Love spent has taken over! I can't take how fucking good this song is!!
Jessica Rabbit Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 One of her best ever for me too..it's almost tied with Gang Bang for best on the album!
Dindi Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 One of the highlights for sure, although I think the latter half (which was previewed in the early clips) sounds better than the first half. And the banjo is awesome!
Guest imsostupid Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 One of the highlights for sure, although I think the latter half (which was previewed in the early clips) sounds better than the first half. And the banjo is awesome! Love the song, probably the best on the album. However, I think the first half is far superior!
Raider of the lost Ark Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 That song is definately about GR. And that banjo (is it a banjo?) just proves it. That parts sounds just like the folk music he was always listening to in IGTTYAS and is very much part of the music in his Sherlock Holmes movies (at least in the first one, haven't seen the second one). OUCH.
Roland Barthes Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 The lyrics are like "Material girl" 28 years later but now the table has turned.

OUCH. If the banjo is intended to be a reference to Guy Ritchie thats pretty cool
