HolidayGuy
I posted the RS info earlier in this thread. Maybe had you not been snoozin' or making one of your silly posts, you would have caught it. Hopefully, numbers will be released tomorrow for the UK and Italy. Guest northernlad
Well she just topped RIT's gross with eleven less shows at that, good on her. Shame it's wounding up, brings kinder thoughts of a second leg. But I must say I don't get why she just didn't tour through the end of September... she's already at the 21st - they could've pulled four more stadium shows in Australia or Europe and she'd be back home with her kids by the first of October (packing for Africa I suppose). Camacho
I have e mailed the Sun and asked them to print the UK figures to shut those 3am bitches up. You should email them this article too from Billboard.com: -link- August 23, 2006, 3:25 PM ET Despite reports in the British press that fans were balking at her high ticket prices, Madonna rang up eight sellouts at Wembley Arena beginning Aug. 1, notching the highest Billboard Boxscore gross of 2006 in the process. Madonnna's Aug. 1, 3, 9-10, 12-13 and 15-16 shows at Wembley grossed $22,090,582 and drew 86,061 in attendance. Tickets were priced at U.S. $299.88-$149.94, well lower than in the United States, where seats top out at $350. For Madonna to reach the top Boxscore is a remarkable feat, as serious box-office heights have already been scaled. Luis Miguel's 30-show stand at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City grossed $19,286,000, while Billy Joel's record 12-show run at Madison Square Garden in New York grossed $19,215,942. -- Ray Waddell, Nashville

Nightshade
Hmmm...I am starting to wonder if she can still break Cher's record tour gross. She'd have to gross about $5 million per show for each one left (around 15 shows) - is that even possible?
HolidayGuy
The Japan grosses should be pretty big (aren't the tickets the most expensive there?) Even if it didn't reach $192.5m, it's still MIGHTY impressive for a 4-month tour.

I imagine she could break whatever records she wanted to if she did shows in Australia or added more in Japan. Although, from the Hannover reports, she is probably sick of touring by now. She'd have to gross about $5 million per show for each one left (around 15 shows) - is that even possible? dearest... this tour is bound to go over $200M... in the US, the average is $183 per the 466k tickets sold and it made $85M in Europe, it will be a lot more... in JAPAN, the 4 sold-out dates can generate a 180,000 tickets sold

Nightshade
GUARANTEED You are more optimistic than I. I certainly hope she does break Cher's record, but I am wondering how high the grosses will be for the Czech shows, Moscow and the Japanese concerts. There are still lots of question marks remaining and considering ticket prices in the Russian market (with many being lower than the Dutch tickets), I think it's gonna be close. Of course, Japan's grosses could blow the roof of this f*cker too.

London shows averaged $256 per ticket Wales ave. $140/ticket Dusseldorf ave. $132/ticket Rome ave. $83/ticket total so far is: $126,919,081.00 $66M needed to oust Cher... Guest northernlad
Why does it matter? Cher's $192 figure was based on well over three hundred shows was it not? Madge will nearly match that with only 60-61. Sure it would be nice if she did topple $200 million (it would probably only take a few more stadium dates but next time eh?), she's surely grossed more cash than any other female singer in her career, which is remarkable considering how comparatively limited her touring has been. That's how I see it. Whether Madonna tops off Cher's record or not is completely irrelevant.
