Nightshade
Wow, I feel old. I remember working my first job in high school and blasting this song from our boom box. The single mix has such a fun intro - with her playful "whooooooo!" as the music builds. She was EVERYWHERE that spring and summer. Those were the days. Guest vermicious knid
There are only two kinds of Madonna fans in this world. Those who believe "Vogue" is her best song ever, and those who don't. I belong to the former, and I look upon the people in the latter with sympathy and pity. The poor things.
Guest edsalas
Vogue is a really good song which I have to admit that when I was a kid I didn't like this song. I got into it many years later. It's an iconic song, crucial in Madonna's career and saying that she looks amazing in the video is an understatement. I think no one can pull off the retro Hollywood's Golden Era look better than her. Plus, she really danced her ass off in the video. What else? Oh, and her 1990 VMA's performance is truly amazing, out of this world. About I'm Breathless, well, it's always been one of my most favorite Madonna albums ever. For me, it's the album where she delivered her best vocal performances from any of her albums as a whole. She really challenged herself in taking the task of performing a music genre that was new for her (in terms of recording) and she really delivered the goods. The music's great, really catchy, bouncy, chic, sophisticated, funny, all at the same time. I really don't understand when Madonna fans dog this album because it's a sheer masterpiece from start to finish.

Undoubtedly "Vogue" became the stronger selling point and propelled the song to the top of the Australian charts for five weeks. Also, many chart-watching fans believe that "Vogue" would have had an even more impressive run in the United States had it been released under the Soundscan/BDS system Billboard instituted in 1991. Since Soundscan, Billboard's #1 hits have tended to have longer runs in the top spot, and "Vogue" could easily have spent more weeks at number one than hits like "Take A Bow," "Music," and "Like A Virgin."
